This is more so regarding the self-righteousness of people who presume that if you have the NF, that you must have obviously bought it, particularly if you are not consistently at the top of the board.
Let me get this out of the way - I was par if not sub-par at best in PvP for the longest time for the following reasons:
1) I kept playing Crucible like I played CoD
2) Lack of familiarity with the weapons
3) Not knowing the maps
4) Not going for precision blows
5) Only focusing on the objective (specifically in Control)
6) my biggest problem is raging (going on tilt) which will turn me into a 0.1 k/d real fast (I will figuratively ONLY go for the last guy who killed me).
So, once I forced myself into PvP to get the Ace, I got comfortable with HC's, which lead me to get others such as Malfeasance, Thorn, Lumina, etc, and eventually the Luna's and NF. Did I do it by myself, absolutely not. I was carried - that much I'll admit, but nothing to the extent of hiring pros to do it for me.
Now, on to the issue at hand. I've received a lot of flack from people assuming incorrectly that I have the "Bought Forgotten" because I'm not on top of the board 100% of the time. First of all, I've been in matches where I had 22 kills, and I was second from the bottom. 2nd, there are only certain weapons I am comfortable using - pulse rifles, and hand cannons, and I figured this out recently (while going for Redrix). If you ever see me playing without a pulse/hc, I am most likely going for a quest, but in the end, you'll notice my game play results are extremely erratic. Do I think I'm good in Crucible - absolutely not. Some matches I'll top the board, other matches, I'll find myself at the bottom with negative kills - all depends on mood, time of day, how long I've been playing, and oddly enough, which map I'm on.
Did I sweat out the grind - I can honestly say "no". But I will say this - a combination of which weapons I learned to use effectively, using a Scuf controller (yes, it made me better), and telling myself to calm down when an Erentil one shots me from across the map through two brick walls and a tree. Does that make me a bad player/cheater? Give me your thoughts, and please be respectful, and I will return it in kind. I appreciate constructive criticism, but putting others down, being pretentious, and rude will not be tolerated.

Kinda similar with Luna. I mean....I've seen some bad people with nf. And I mean BAD. But you're right the gun doesn't really automatically make you a God player. Your skill does that
