I can understand crucible kills but pve makes no sense. I could literally farm infinite amount of ads to get a kill counter up due to enemies not fighting back. I don't get

Well, I like to know how many kills I made with a certain gun. I can show others how long I have used this gun since I got it and also can indicate when I should play something else.
-
This is easy. Put it on crucible kills, and don't worry about it.
-
#ItsNotOnlyAboutYou Just because you see no value in it doesn't mean other people also do not.
-
Really? With all the other crap going on in this game and you want to complain about kill tracker. WOW
-
Lol 👆 this!

Bragging rights

It wouldn't be there if people didn't want it. You don't have to understand a feature for it to be in the game.
-
Why would you farm something for something that meaningless? And I'm saying that with +800K Striker kills.
-
To track kills, bud.
-
It's for people who like using them. You have an option to choose.
-
Most people in Crucible don’t know how to fight back either so you’ve got the same kill counter issue there too...
-
Why does it matter? Someones having a bad day. Highest PVE gun "The Conqueror, 22,222" Kinetic Sub.
-
Because sometimes it's nice to wonder how many kills you have with a specific weapon and instead of launching crap on the laptop or mobile phone you can look on your gun in game. I mean it really doesn't hurt anything.lol
-
Bungie please nerf kill trackers, I can’t count that high
-
What’s the point of a kill tracker at all? Half of the crucible kills are teamshots someone got the last bullet on.
-
Imagine farming kills on a game like this
-
Because if it wasn’t there as an option PvE’ers would most definitely complain about it NOT being an option.

Things that should be tracked instead of simple kills -Precision Kills -Multikills -Powerful Enemies Killed -Highest Boss Damage -Iron Banner Wins -Iron Banner Zones Captured -Gambit Wins -Gambit Envoys Defeated -Gambit Invaders Defeated -Raid Encounters Completed -Raid Kills -Individual Weapon Type Kills(Gunsmith Emblem Idea) Bungie needs to be more creative , they used to think of things like this on there own, Now the players have to think of good ideas for them. -
5 RepliesYou are the first person I’ve ever noticed bring this up. I choose an overall kill counter over just a crucible tracker any day. It’s crazy to me that someone would track PvP kills over overall kills.
-
It's a good way to help you track which weapons you use. It isnt meant to help you boost your numbers. For example I have a trust with over 23k kills. It's by far the gun I use the most. I replaced my midnight as soon as it dropped.
-
I would like to see something tally up the amount of times I’ve been killed by the architects they are the true enemy.
-
It’s so you can flex if you have a ton of kills. I don’t get it why the kills track on only the roll of the gun you masterworked and not the gun itself. So if you get the same gun but with a better roll you have to start from scratch. Exotics should also have a kill tracker by default imo.
-
If anything, Pinnacle weapons should have at least an emblem with kill information.

For that matter, the kill tracker is not persistent. Let's say you have an exotic weapon with catalyst applied (i.e. masterworked) that you dismantle and then retrieve out of the collection. All stats from the previous weapon are gone and your stats go back to zero. It is a pretty much useless stat. You may ask why dismantle exotics - to transfer power. It is relatively cheap to dismantle/re-acquire exotics. Also, infusing an exotic into another exotic is relatively cheap too. So let's say you needed a max power Telesto but already had a max power Jotuun. You could infuse the Jotuun into the Telesto and then re-acquire the Jotuun out of the collection at 20 power below your max. After you're finished with Telesto you can infuse it back into Jotuun to re-max that weapon and then re-acquire Telesto from the collection. In this manner you can swap max power around to different exotics while you are working on building out your max power collection. Each time you dismantle a masterworked weapon, the next time you pull it out from the collection (applies to exotics and pinnacles) your tracked stats go back to zero. Since we are so close to ShadowKeep, another rule of thumb while leveling up - keep one set of legendary gear/weapons at the highest power level. So if you get an exotic that is higher than a specific category of gear, infuse it into a legendary of the same type and then re-purchase it from your collection (at the lower power). Legendary gear gives you the max flexibility for your load out until you've hit the max - at which point you can start infusing everything up to the max.

3 RepliesYou have it all wrong. The "PvE" tracker also tracks your crucible kills, so all you really need is the "PvE" tracker. The crucible tracker is the useless one.
