I’ve been in a little twitter debate on whether subclass buffs can stack come Shadowkeep. The topic consists of a player using Wormgods Caress titan exotic for the burning fist buff, and Burning Maul’s hammer throw for the roaring flames buff.
My question is will these two stack? I’m under the impression they will not. My reasoning is in the Directors Cut pt 3 it was said that when using Well of Radiance and adding the Lumina buff, Lumina would cancel out the damage boost from Well. Since Lumina, an exotic, cancels the subclass ability of Well, I feel as though either Burning Fist or Roaring Flames would cancel each one or the other out.
This has been an ongoing debate for a couple hours now and I’d appreciate a solid answer. Thanks for reading!

As far as I know, enemy debuffs and buffs that make players UNIVERSALLY stronger will default to the strongest option. Lumina increases damage that you do with weapons, abilities, and supers, so it will be subject to the changes. Things like Combination Blow, Burning Fists, or Raiden Flux shouldn't be impacted. However, other abilities like Inertia Override or Empowering Melee will be overridden

3 RepliesIf the buffs do the same thing (ie buff damage) the one with the higher impact will take precedent until it wears off.
Player Damage Buffs Player Bonuses Bonus damage effects that apply to all of a player's weapons simultaneously no longer stack multiplicatively. The highest applicable bonus will be used instead. This does not affect single weapon buffs such as Rampage, Kill Clip, or exotic weapons that increase their own damage. These will still stack multiplicatively. Buffs that provide bonus damage will still exist simultaneously on the player, so in the event that the one with the highest multiplier wears off the next highest will be used instead. This change affects the following weapons/abilities (Empowering Rift, Frontal Assault, Guiding Flame, Sun Warrior, Inertia Override, Well of Radiance, Lumina/Noble Rounds, Weapons of Light)
There is no solid answer. Bungie discussed some examples and exceptions but these were mostly in regards to weapons and were incomplete. The new rule is that nothing stacks and only the highest buff will count. Until proven otherwise it should be assumed there are no exceptions to this.
