I agree, the bottom tree shield bash is pretty inconsistent compared to top tree hammer, I don't even use bottom tree sentiental unless the rare chance I feel like using it in PvP
[spoiler] actually is bottom tree sentiental used for anything that isn't PvP? It just seems so useless in PvE unless you got that one exotic gauntlets which turns it into bottom tree striker[/spoiler]

It’s one of the best for as clearing and it’s what got me my massacre medals to finish up and get the reckoner title. But in PvP the shield bash is way to inconsistent and it’s almost like flipping a coin to see if the melee will actually connect with damage.

Yea that's the exotic I was talking about, but still though, I don't think it'd be great in group PvE's like menagerie or raids since you don't do much to protect your team aside from getting kills Like top tree has defensive strike and ward of dawn and middle has banner and the void detonaters which if I remember give health

To be honest with you man sentinel as a whole really doesn’t do much to protect the team. Until the bubble gets buffed in shadowkeep it’s still gonna be the worst thing to use and middle tree is cool and all especially for being able to tank blade barrages and chaos reaches but in PvE you’re missing out on DpS because the weapons of light bonus that it gets is very neglible. Best way to use sentinel right now is to either put in middle tree and start setting up chain explosions or go bottom tree with doom fangs and start clearing full waves of ads since it technically can last forever compared to code of the juggernaut since FoH got a hard cap nerf to super duration after 12 - 15 kills while doom fangs will keep going as long as there are enemies on the field.
