Why does everyone have that 1hko melee ability except hunters? Throwing knife in the head should be a kill at full health. Also the new Hunter uppercut should be 1hko. You've gotta balance your classes, Bungie!!!
Otherwise you can remove those melee 1 hit kill from every other class, that would make the game competitive and possible skillful play instead of just exploiting whatever is OP.

34 RepliesI honestly hate the "other classes have a OHK melee so Hunter have to as well so it's balanced." Um. No. That's an apples to oranges comparison. Literally useless. Titans have to charge their melee for some time and then get close to use it. On top of that, the only have one way to get it back, and that requires an exoitc and a kill. The throwing knife is instant and can consistently get precision hits from quite the distance depending on the player. On top of that, it can be brought back a variety of ways. Ophidia Spathe + 5 paragon mods and Gambler's Dodge gives you 3 throwing knives for every engagement. Your dodge cooldown is virtually nonexistent at that point. Gambler's Dodge + The Sixthe Coyote and more paragon mods also gives you three throwing knives for every engagement. You could also just rock 5 paragon mods and Gambler's Dodge and have two throwing knives for every engagement. On top of all this, precision kills with the knife immediately cool it down on Way of the Sharpshooter. You telling me you want all hunters seeing you, throwing a knife, missing so the dodge, throw another one, missing again, dodging, and then throwing another one for a OHK? And then having their knife ready for the next fight? You kidding me? The Titan shoulder charge results in their own death 9 times out of 10 if they miss and the usually get killed my someone else after a successful shoulder charge, unless they have OEM on (whole other can of worms on that one). Currently and even after the buff you suggest, the two melees are not and would not be even a little bit similar in terms of execution, forgiveness, their effect on the overall meta, cooldown, potential OHK range, the experience of the player receiving the OHK, or the player using the OHK melee. No point in comparing them to make one look weaker. That's by design for a reason, and a very obvious one at that. They each have a purpose and are actually decent within that purpose (throwing knives might need a hitbox buff cause sometimes it's wonky), so breaking them out of their intended uses is a great way to break the game. If you don't believe that last statement, look at how handcannons dominated across all range in vanilla D1. Look at The Last Word during that time. Look at scouts now that pulses have the same range in 99% of cases.

Yeah they do need to balance their classes. What would you suggest they do to the Warlock and Titan to make them on even footing with the best PVP class in the history of Destiny? Cry all you want but Hunters are still the best and easiest PVP class in the game by a mile thanks to two words. Double jump or triple jump. Throwing knives should not ohk because you can have two of them and get them back just by dodging when you have the right set up. (Plus you get your class ability way more often than the other classes) Also they require no charge time or set up, just aim and press. Oh yeah they also have huge range so sorry that just won't work. If Warlocks see some kind of movement buff like double or triple jump then sure but we all know that ain't gonna happen.

Remove goomba stomp. Hate it when a hunter on my team jumps on my head and I get “killed by the architects.”

7 RepliesAgreed uppercut needs to be ohk melee. Or they take the smoke from spectral blades and give us back stab back and make precision hits with single throwing knife a ohk. People will say throwing knives are easy but they don't have tracking like the hammer throw titans have nor does it regenerate health and that can even ohk with synthoceps, heart of inmost light or with enough stacks of roaring flames.

6 RepliesI'm so sick of OHK in this game. Adding more of it on top of what we already have only takes PvP further down the road of being a joke when it comes to any sense of actual competition. Why does everyone want something where you get a kill simply for showing up and pressing a button? The OHK is what is killing PvP, even moreso than the supers. Control is a complete joke where no one bothers capping because of it. And does anyone want to know why Countdown had to disappear? If they are going to keep on with the philosophy that OHK is integral to Destiny's playstyle then the original Luna/NF needs to be the baseline for ttk on multishot weapons.

1 ReplyEdited by GrifterDeMier01: 9/21/2019 11:56:12 PMI'll say this again for the 1,000th time. If hunter ever gets a one hit throwing knife then it also needs to get a health regen ability and a wall ability. Then Titan and warlock both need to get dodge abilities, then warlock needs a wall and Titan needs a health regen ability. You damn huntards just need to shut the -blam!- up already.

3 RepliesBecause Hunters are the only class that has a ranged melee ability. Warlocks and Titans have OHK melee abilities because they are high-risk/High rewards moves that require the user to fully commit to going into shotgun range to use it...and not being able to escape retaliation if they fail to get the kill. IOW. Miss a shield bash...or a supernova? You're dead. Where as Hunter ranged melees allow you to stand safely outside of shotgun range...and even the range of some SMG....and chuck attacks. Attacks where you hve the speed and agility to escape should you miss. So giving Hunters a OHK melee...ON TOP of that range advantage and that agility advantage is nothing but a recipe to break the game.
-
Nah hunters never needed a 1shot ability to be good. Hunter main here.
-
Giving you all the support. But meh bungie doesnt care, and those OEM trolls.
-
Use a warlock or titan of you think they have an advantage then...
-
Make it a backstab or charge your knife... All I can really think of. Shoulder charge and supernova grenade are a thing. Give the hunter something cool too.
-
So long as you leave my handheld supernova/contraverse hold combo alone go ahead!!
Satire
Precision knife should OHK anyone unless they’re casting an instant super IMO
Sorry, all out of salt.
Edited by BlueKiBlast: 9/22/2019 2:56:17 AMI remeber in d1 hunters and titans had one hit melee but not warlocks and now they're crying lmao. Warlocks still cant oneshot melee
-
4 RepliesThey dont need it. Uppercut shouldnt one shot since it have a great aoe and is pretty easy to use without being in danger. Titan shouldercharge is dangerous for the titan especially in a meta full of shotguns and handcanons. If you die too much due to a shoulder charge....you deserve it sorry. And warlock dont have a one hit kill melee, thats a grenade.
-
Edited by Midnight: 9/21/2019 11:29:25 PMYou REALLY don't need it with all of the crazy shit you can do. Let those Titans have one small thing. Hunters already have everything else that the other classes have. Remove all the hunter abilities from the game or give them also to warlocks and watch the hunters call for nerfs
-
2 RepliesWe don’t need a ohk melee. Definitely could use some throwing knife buffs, especially since Burning Maul mini hammer is way better, but besides that we’re fine in the melee category.
-
I like to soften up my opponent before tossing my blade in their skull. The laughter is loud! 😊
-
But hunters are so puny... what... how... how could they ever one hit kill anything?? Shoot my hammer weighs more than a hunter and I’m talking about the small hammer... this is outlandish talk right here. What do you expect though... hunters are always about do this and that for me and then when they get themselves in a pickle they always call for a Titan... we do what we can!!
-
You never played the glitched out "backstab"ability in D1 did you? Go back to that and there, you'll have your 1 hit.
-
1 ReplyWarlocks don't have 1 hit, I have first "hand" experience
-
No. Unless there is some sort of nerf to the melee you want to one shot.

8 RepliesShoulder charge can't function like a good melee if it doesn't one shot. They'd have to remove the wind up time and speed up the animation just to make it even remotely fair because it would literally be useless in its current state without it's current power. Shoulder charge is in one of the most unique positions in the game where it's either obnoxious as hell or weak as all hell. In year 1 when it couldn't one shot players, you literally just got yourself killed guaranteed unless you snuck up on them with it. In a meta where shotguns, smgs, and fusion rifles exist, you are going to get melted even with one shot shoulder charge more often than not. It's a powerful ability once you actually get in, but unlike throwing knives, you have to put yourself fully in danger to use it, vs just chucking your knife and just hopping away like all hunters do already or retreating behind something. You ARE the weapon and therefore at far more risk. Shoulder charge has such a large weakness that is at times overshadowed by dumb luck more often than not. In a game filled with players who actually know what they are doing, you will pretty much never get killed by it unless you miss shots or you just got crept up on. My friends always complain in our private matches whenever I use it (which is rare, but still) and say that it's unbeatable. So one of my friends switches to a titan and boasts how many times he's going to kill me with it. I got killed by it once. Other times were outmaneuvered, something easiest to do on hunters, outplayed by using spacing and staying away from corners where they could get me, and in general I was just the better player. Sometimes it's difficult to stop it, but it's also really not at the same time. But people don't like to understand shoulder charge as much as they like bashing it. Handheld super nova I'd say is better than shoulder charge when it actually connects. I've killed 3 people in one use of it and it's not exactly the hardest to aim, but you are sacrificing your grenade for it and it's not lenient at all if you miss. So for the hunters saying that throwing knife or tempest strike should one shot...maybe once the wind up requirement is more than just pushing a button or Sprint sliding for 0.25 seconds and just punching the melee button. I'm literally not calling these melees good, but just that the requirement should be the same to accomplish the same goal that you are asking for.
-
Yeah, it’s annoying, but it really isn’t that great of an ability. Try playing a match with only your melee. You won’t do too good.
-
Warlocks dont have an ohk melee and titans require you to stop shooting and run at your enemy in a straight line which is very easily counterable, throwing knife has range and no buildup or anything
