I only play one main character on Xbox, but have 2 on blizzard. What will happen to my orignal character if I transfer?
For example, if you choose your Xbox as the cross-save main account, then that 1 character save will override your PC character save. Your Xbox character will be used on all platforms. The PC character save will not be lost, but while cross-save with Xbox is active, PC characters will be inactive, safely stored.

You will still have access to your Forsaken content on the platform you own it on. Game licenses are separate from character data and do not transfer from platform to platform. You'll need to own the content on all platforms you wish to play on. The only exception to this is the Shadowkeep Season Pass. You only need to purchase it on one platform, e.g. Xbox. As long as you log in to the account that owns the Season Pass first when Shadowkeep launches, you'll be able to access it on other platforms (provided you also own the base Shadowkeep on the other platforms).
when destiny 2 dissapears from the blizzard launcher, will I still be able to transfer to steam?
If by this you mean, whether you can transfer after Oct 1, the answer is yes. However, it would be recommended to set up everything as soon as you can.
Please note that the PC Move and Cross-save are two different services.
PC Move transfers your Battle.net data to Steam on or after Oct 1.
Cross-save allows you to choose one character save to be used on all platforms.

This cleared up a lot. One more question though - would the best transfer option be xbox>blizzard>steam, or just waiting till October 1st and moving from xbox straight to steam? And I'll keep my forsaken through the next season pass? Or am I confused? Thanks for your time.

Edited by suttungur: 9/20/2019 5:20:13 AMMake sure to be logged in with your intended Bungie profile (assuming the one you are posting with) and bring the Bliz and Steam accounts to it. Then make sure the PC Move is set up using the PC Move page. After that, you can set up the Cross-save.

Thanks! You've been a great help.

My pleasure. Just let me know if you have any other questions/concerns.

Alright, so, I've gotten around to moving my xbox character to pc. None of my forsaken or annual passes transferred, and any time I try to preview purchasing either of them I get a 404 error. Any way I can get them back without purchasing again? Or is that just not possible? And if I did purchase them again on PC/Blizzard, would they transfer to steam as well? Or get left behind like they were on xbox? Thanks.

Those licenses are controlled by your platform, and therefore aren't able to be transferred (Curse of Osiris and Warmind are included with the base game, so those transferred). To prepare for the Migration, all Destiny 2 purchases on Battlenet stopped on September 3rd. You'll have to wait until October 1st when they become available to buy again on Steam.

Thanks :)
would the best transfer option be xbox>blizzard>steam, or just waiting till October 1st and moving from xbox straight to steam?
This is entirely up to you. However, it would be easier to set up everything now, without the launch hassle to avoid any mistakes. Also, if you don't transfer it as xbox>blizzard>steam, the blizzard account will not transfer at all.
And I'll keep my forsaken through the next season pass?
Any game content you own, you will continue to own after Shadowkeep launches. Note that if you own Forsaken only on Xbox, you will only be able to access that content on Xbox.

quick question, i transferred my ps4 account over to blizzard, then used my blizzard account to transfer my ps4 character to there. apparently my rarely used, 691 power titan was transferred to steam instead of my main account being transferred. is there a way i can unlink and relink my accounts over to steam without waiting 90 days to use cross save again?

According to your profile, you have PSN as your cross-save main. This does not affect the Battle.net to Steam transfer, as that is PC to PC. Everything you have on Battle.net transfers to Steam on Oct 1, including any characters. Your PSN character save will override the Battle.net characters, which will be stored in the background for as long as you have cross-save active.
