Your way to find out would be to make a list of what programs run on your pc before or during play. Even cheats that ran before opening destiny could have caused this ban.

The only program that I use that could’ve been remotely close to something that could get me banned is visual studio running in the background. However, I’m a cpts student and I use visual studio for coding projects not hacking. And in no way did I attach visual studio to destiny.
-
Doesn’t matter if it’s attached or not programming shouldn’t be on while playing regardless.
-
That’ll do it....as VS has tools for code editing & debugging (among others) that are on Bungie’s list of bannable-style programs to not even run while also running D2.
-
So just because I had VS open in the background, not running any individual program, and the debugger not even running on the destiny.exe or any other program; I was banned for just having the program open? Seems a bit crazy to me.
-
Yup. Bungie has had that policy/stance since day1 of pc launch. They’ve repeatedly said not to run any of those type programs....as it just needs to be running, not never used or affecting D2, to trigger anti-cheat.
-
Wow. That’s a crazy policy to have considering that people might have those programs open for things other than cheating. I literally just had a school project on there.
-
Just a note you can’t exactly play games and work at the same time.
-
I was taking a break from my schoolwork, hence why I opened destiny. To my knowledge then I had no idea having vs open was ban-able.

Edited by silentbutviolent: 9/19/2019 3:08:07 PMor, you had it open seeing if it was possible to hack using VS..... don't get your undies in a wad, i'm not saying that's what were are doing. i'm simply saying it to point out there's no way they can take your word for it.
-
I understand that and the skepticism behind it. I now know that using vs while playing destiny is cause for a ban. I also know that I wasn’t hacking, and I’m the only person that knows that for sure. However, like I’ve said before in this thread I was just hoping to get a confirmed reason for the ban. Not to dispute the ban.

Your opinion...however, Bungie has been warning us not to do it. Anything that has that potential shouldn’t be open while also playing. Lesson learned.
