Just started playing d2 again and decided to try out the bows. Wow they suck. Like I just played in crucible and found out that a headshot isn’t a one hit kill like a sniper is. IMO it’s harder to hit heads with the bow so why isn’t it more like a sniper. Would it be to op? And then also they suck in pve to so what’s up with that.

Bows have way more aim assist than snipers. And shorter zoom Sights. And use primary ammo

I guess you won't be going for Hush in Gambit then! :) That aside, I do think that bows can be good. Hush has a very fast draw speed (when Archer's Gambit is active), so that can help (though really not sure it was worth the time it took to get 1500 kills and 500 medals), but for me, I always use Subtle Calamity with explosive head. It's actually pretty effective. As is Trinity Ghoul if you want a different exotic.

Because you're trying to use them for something they weren't designed for. 1. A OHK primary weapon would break the game. Bungie made that mistake in Destiny 1 with No Land Beyond. 2. If you want to use a bow in PVP then you need to be willing to play a support/ lane control row. Because---unless there is a huge skill gap between you and your opponent----you are going to lose 1v1s using a bow. 3. What bows are **frustratingly** good at is cleaning lanes (forcing other players to withdraw and run for cover) and cleaning wounded players very quickly.

Let me introduce you to Le Monarque.

Bows are awesome, and spooky as hell if you know what you're doing. Pre-draw, always.

The scope is clearly not the same.

You don't use a bow like a regular gun. They're meant to be played like Snipers and they have more aim assist than most weapons. A one-shotting primary? Who needs NLB or a sniper?

Bows are fantastic weapons once you learn how to use them properly. Either of my Subtle Calamity bows will two shot in crucible with explosive tip, not just head shots either. As someone who uses bows 99% of the time, I'd advise you to try out different rolls of Arsenic Bite and Subtle Calamity. Draw time is very important to watch out for, and it's main reason I don't use exotic bows. Damage falloff is minimal too. As for head shots, that's just a matter of practice and keeping the bow drawn as much as possible.

They use Primary ammo.
