When you take into account the 50 percent reduction to headshot damage, these weapons actually are getting nerfed. Let's say you hit 50 percent crits with an auto and 50 percent non crits. Crit damage will be now 1.5x on rank and file instead of 3x. This mean that your critical damage will decrease by 50 percent. If you do 30 percent more damage with an auto, that is a net nerf to crit damage by 70 percent. Your non precision damage to rank and file will increase by 30 percent. So with your non crit damage being 1.5x lower, that 30 percent to body shot damage only recovers 20 percent of your critical damage back that you lost. So end the end you are at a 50 percent damage nerf to rank and file enemies.
Sneaky bungie. Stealth nerfing weapons to rank and file enemies. On higher ranked enemies you are most likely using secondary weapons, so the impact will be less felt on tanker targets.
Edit: actually, I was a little off. In the situation I described, hitting one non crit and one crit, the overall reduction will be around 19 percent.

Cant look at scouts and autos in a vacuum. They nerfed the other weapon types as well.
-
Not really. Exert weapon got a need to the crit damage. Only some got a buff. Relatively speaking scouts and autos for a buff.
