Why would agg, and 540 rpm pulse rifles need a buff? Are you fricken kidding me.
Those two archetypes already slay in the crucible for the little guardians that are too scared to learn how to use different weapons, so they just stay back and teamshot people from afar.
PR's have been too annoying for far too long -- since before season 4 and nothing has changed about them strength wise, other than getting more buffs.

1 ReplyThere is alot more to a weapon than its archetype and rpm. You have to look at the whole picture not cherry pick a portion.
-
1 ReplyYou forgot something very crucial; damage drop off. Damage drop off is going to be more of a factor this time. The idea of that is so that scout rifles can compete. It’s silly in a way because most maps cater to pulse rifles if you think about it. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a clever dragon like meta on the way.

1 ReplyNow I could understand your reasoning if it were adaptive frames( 390rpm) they were buffing. But the 2 archetypes they are buffing aren't exactly doing that well currently...so I think you're overreacting.

10 RepliesUses a hand cannon and a sniper and cries about a pulse rifle. I can understand if you mentioned guns like dad furnace and bygones. Try a rapid fire pulse at high tier comp or low impact I bet you'd get wrecked
-
They technically nerfed them in pvp since the damage drop off is much greater.

They are actually getting nerfed with a general increase in damage fall-off, to make Scouts more viable at med-long range Rapid Fire and Aggressive types are getting slight buffs nothing major just something to off-set their range fall-offs. Adaptive pulse like Bygones will be less effective at longer range and it may make Redrix finally have a place in PvP

1 ReplyI totally forgot Crucible is the only mode in this game.
-
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it said pve.

1 Replyopposed to what? More hand cannons? Shotguns? Some people dont realize this isn't just a PVP game.

HCs have the most unique and best perks in the game as well. Yet a pulse is your problem

Don’t get your knickers in a twist just pve. The Redrix will get a buff though for pvp ...bring it on!

2 RepliesIts been a hc meta for a year. Hc kills are equal or higher to pulse and shotty every week.

Edited by RWBY'S WORKOUT (TIMELOST): 9/14/2019 5:11:01 PMRange is being tuned while rapid fire and high impact frames are being buffed Seems like they are making it so pulses have a place and all pulses can compete, because let’s be honest there’s more bygones then redrix or claws in the crucible.
-
All pulse rifles are getting more aggressive damage falloff, rapid/aggressive frames are not forgiving archetypes, can be deadly in the right hands but easily punishes you, but you cant complain about a change untill we have tried it
-
Edited by FROGGY: 9/13/2019 8:49:21 PMI believe they added drop off damage that would solve the pvp issue with getting out gunned from across map. Now it's inline with other weapons. Damage was never the problem, it's the damage range. Plus the damage buff is for pve.

1 ReplyPulses will be stronger against major enemies and have a longer TTK against common red bar enemies. A poster on Reddit provided a very thorough damage breakdown based on Bungie’s numbers. Overall this can be interpreted either way. A buff or a nerf.

My primary go to since D1 , nerwins mercy , clever dragon , bad juju the list goes on . I love my pulse rifles and this buff probably not needed but can’t wait . Now my Redrix will be worth using , I hear it’s still a good gun but what I’m saying is if I can a better Bygones from the drifter why use Redrix ... it makes no sense .

1 ReplyDont worry about pulse ranges are being checked so scouts and hand cannons will most likely beat it anyway.
-
1 ReplyToo scared to use different weapons? What about the insane amount of people who have been using hand cannons for the last 4-5 months?
-
6 Repliesyou should learn to comprehend what you read. the buff is mainly PvE based, with a small adjustment to archetypes. that is the only PvP adjustment. "Pulse Rifles PvE damage against minor enemies increased by 28% Increased the effects of damage range falloff on this weapon archetype. Archetype specific damage changes (impacts both PvE and PvP gameplay) Rapid-Fire Pulse Rifles now deal 14/23.8 base/precision damage (Previously 13/21.4) High Impact Pulse Rifles now deal 21/33.6 base/precision damage (Previously 20/32)"
