Just to be clear, I’m not complaining about the changes to weapons in year 2. It’s a good thing that shotguns, fusions, snipers, etc. got slotted in the energy weapon slot. What I’m complaining about is the infinite amount of ammo you can obtain and the lack of incentive for players to use anything but their special ammo weapon, and of course, Fighting Lion has got to be included in this post bc it uses primary ammo.
It took me a long time to learn to get good at PvP. I used to be horrible. My overall k/d is extremely low because of my lack of skill way back when. I’m not a try hard either. I consider myself currently to be decent and still learning. The problem is that it’s hard for anyone to get better when everyone is using one-hit-kill weapons and the zero incentive to learn positioning, aiming, etc. type of skills. I get why everyone is using them. Whether it’s a quest like Mountaintop, Revoker, or if it’s the only thing they’ve got to counter everyone else spamming Fighting Lion, Jotunn, Alone as a God, Erentil, or something else. This is a major problem and I think Bungie needs to come up with an idea to reign in on this. Some of these special weapons need a nerf, but more importantly, PvP needs to limit the amount of special ammo you can get. Fighting Lion needs to use special ammo or severely limit the max ammo reserves for it if it’s going to remain using primary ammo. Bungie needs to incentivize people to use their hand cannons, scouts, pulse rifles, etc. again. I’m not saying literally everyone is only using special weapons. I’m saying it’s enough of a problem that it’s got people like me and even some streamers flabbergasted that Bungie allows this in the first place.
I know I’m going to get some hate messages here. Say what you want. I went from having a .89 ka/d in the beginning of the year to a 1.3 ka/d today. In case you don’t realize how much of a jump that is, it takes a really long time to increase that score by just a .1. I’ve worked my ass off learning to improve in PvP. It’s just not as fun anymore when I know that no matter how much skill I’ve learned, being team shot with grenade launchers and fusions will get even the most skilled player killed.
Before any of you look at my loadout and scream “you’re using a shotgun” or whatever, of course I’m using it asshole. I have no choice. I don’t play the game to be another players punching bag. Before you look at my stats, I’ve already said I used to suck. That tracks all PvP kills, assists, and deaths since the beginning. I mention all that because I know what the hateful comments will look like below.

I'm locking this thread as per the poster's request. Please remember to be respectful of other people's opinions.

"my stats used to be horrible, but the guy who I paid to get nf boosted my stats a little" oh okay

ITS HAPPENED PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO SAY FIGHTING LION IS OP HAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Edited by Elkris Vehrnn: 9/11/2019 6:55:12 PMFighting lion? Really? Like, really? Fighting lion is a good weapon, it's true, but it isn't OP and def isn't killing the game

3 RepliesYea let's take out special again, that works out well every time....... Will you please go play Halo?
The problem is that it’s hard for anyone to get better when everyone is using one-hit-kill weapons and the zero incentive to learn positioning, aiming, etc. type of skills..
I made a post directly addressing this and it got downvoted into the ground. Basically I say that the low skill gap that cheesy weapons have created is not conducive with low skill players getting better.

5 RepliesAre you really saying that it’s ok (to you) for you to use those meta-style weapons, but others are trash/need to “git gud” when they are using the same meta-style weapons?
-
5 RepliesEdited by The (Timelost) Raven: 9/11/2019 4:14:53 PMDude seriously just stop. Nothing you say matters. We use whatever we want whenever we want. Don't like getting your butt kicked then stay out of crucible. Stop crying like a baby and just learn to use other weapons or increase the skill you have to outplay them. Also I earned my pinacle weapons so I'm going to damn well use them.lol

Disagree with the fighting lion stuff. It’s not as powerful as most other specials and takes up an exotic slot, so imo it’s balanced. Special ammo is in effect being nerfed but I personally feel like it would be better if scavengers were removed from pvp entirely such that special ammo is more commodified and less a given (getting one shot per kill from opponents)
-
15 RepliesSo you have mountaintop but other people can’t. You have not forgotten on all 3 characters. Why not unhide your stats so we can see if you’re a good player,, or if you’re a potato that had to cheese NF and mountaintop?
-
7 RepliesYou have NOT FORGOTTEN. As you have it, there is no sense at all that you criticise about Fighting Lion. Not Forgotten owners simply does not have problem with FL. And I did read your whole post, really don’t understand your point.
-
Fighting Lion isn't a problem, it isn't a one hit unless it's direct. It costs your exotics slot which can be used for better weapons, and it also takes your energy slot, which mind you is the one used for most of the best Special/Promary weapons in the game. It has its tradeoffs. Also it bounces which is annoying af.
-
Oh god no please no! Limiting special ammo only made the rise of iron meta worse. Don't repeat that same mistake again.
-
Sorry I read your first paragraph and then stopped. Fighting Lion is NOT an issue in anyway shape or form. If you were dominated by someone using FL in PvP, give credit to the player rather than blaming the weapon being OP because it isn't.
-
19 RepliesHey. It’s this guy again. Negative kd with privacy settings turned on and Not Forgotten on all his characters. Seems a little odd.
-
2 RepliesOk. You put on Fighting Lion and see how well you do. 😂
-
Edited by diakopoi: 9/11/2019 7:53:54 PMYou want to nerf fighting lion? Saying that cancels your entire argument. I don’t care about your KD, no good PvP player whines about some primary grenade launcher. Edit: god damn, you probably paid your way to nf and mountaintop
-
-
When do you see fighting lion one shotting players when you are getting team shot. But claims to use a shotgun just wow dude. Try using fighting lion let's see if you can one shot and good luck it ain't happening a weapon that requires skill but hey let's just nerf it's ammo makes no sense. And kd ratio who care you're probably confused by a efficiency stat that doesn't measure kd. A true kd shouldn't have assisted kills measured only kills you get and I guarantee the stat you're parading would be a lot less.
-
3 RepliesSo basically what you're saying is that because you have your Mountaintop, others need to stop the spamming of the grenade launcher Fighting Lion, because you're good now. That's not cool.
-
I'm not usually one to say this, but you paid for Not Forgotten. You have less than a .09 KD. And then you hide your stats and game history while complaining about Fighting Lion? No. Make your stuff public and then we can talk about what you want in PVP.
-
God I wish you could hear yourself.
-
Fighting Lion hasnt ruined crucible. Terrible team balancing. Terrible spawns. Terrible matchmaking. P2P hybrid system my ass. The crucible sucks. Only way I see it getting better is Bungie seperating the gear. But they wpuld rather nerf than put that much effort forward.
-
2 RepliesYou're honestly whining for fighting lion of all things to be nerfed? To put it simply, git gud.
-
Gee, mister, I sure wish I was cool enough to pay my way to a Not Forgotten and Mountaintop and turn around and complain about the things I don't know how to use!

Edited by Mister Wrecked: 9/11/2019 8:56:07 PMFighting Lion can't OHK a Guardian, even on a direct hit. It does 144 damage, plus 22 on a direct hit. Even Resilience 1 Guardians can tank a direct hit (188 HP, 166 damage). An Empowering Rift brings damage up to 172 and 27, for a total of 199. That will one shot up to Resilience 8 Guardian on a direct hit, but you have to be stationary for that to work. Given reload times for the weapon, remote detonation that requires you to hold the trigger down and watch the shot to trigger the explosion, and the reload speed of the gun Fighting Lion doesn't seem OP to me. You might have a point if folks are running something like Militias Birthright and Fighting Lion together... But that's an awfully niche build.
Also, if this came out of Mtashed's video yesterday just stop. He was whining about "no skill" grenade launchers in a QP lobby where he pub stomped 40 kills and was using Get Away Artist... Possibly the leasted skilled way to get kills in all of Destiny.
