Laggy games, not sure what caused it. Everything was fine.

Hey all ive linked 2 screenshots, one where judging by my stats on the first one where I easily have 36 kills https://imgur.com/u9GBZto and I have plenty of high kill games, most ive done is like 45-46. Another one is bellow. At some point I cant really tell anymore when it started happening but all games are super laggy now. Comp too, getting shot from behind cover, jumping over players way up high so they kill me with melee in front of them so my body goes back to where they did it etc. All of things people usually complain in a p2p game but this just goes way further, I have up to 3sec delays from my own kills, plenty of absolutely no damage while shooting with a shotgun 3 times into someone only to get melee'd in the face and teabagged. Now im obv on cable, to my router, then modem. The modem doesn't have a qos feature so I use an external router and have qos enabled since I had a lot of issues with bufferbloat where it would go up to 4000ms+, now its like this and when I did this everything was golden all games worked flawlessly in terms of ping. Here's the results I usually have with the router and qos enabled, with out it it's all F/C/D rating https://imgur.com/ATcLVm8 This PC is the ONLY thing connected, nothing can obstruct my connection, literally nothing and no one, yet this lag is just always there, in every match for like a month+ Ive talked to my ISP on getting maybe a different modem but I doubt that would change much, since I know everything worked really good for a long while. Heavy lag is def my only gripe with the game and its net architecture, also always getting booted to orbit or the main menu almost every time I'm in the tower or patrolling. Like I get it lag is gonna happen from time to time it is what it is, but this is just over the top lag in terms of I lost so much stat was, was 1.9KD now im at 1.2KD because of this. I know Im not gonna find an answer here, I know but maybe someone might have some other suggestion I have not tried, and ive tried a lot of shit. Im playing on EU servers, I see people that I play with are also from EU based on the clan names and just meeting a lot of people on LFG so It's insane that Im only lagging for some reason and not them too. https://imgur.com/1oAyyCG this is basically how it goes for me, I have to freaking sweat so much to get to 12 kills, its such a handicap and Im super scared about the future of my games since I preordered shadowkeep since I love this game to death obv. But I dont want this to continue I want things to be like they were before whatever was changed. Thanks for reading!

  • It’s good you set up your qos to reduce bufferbloat, but that’s not going to be a concern if you are only using your connection for gaming. Bufferbloat becomes an issue when all the apps and/or devices on your network are collectively demanding all the available network download/upload bandwidth. I’d look elsewhere as the source of your problem. From the symptoms you listed, I think something about your network setup is limiting the players you can connect with, possibly a NAT issue, ports not opened or maybe a double NAT within your network or caused by your ISP. It would be helpful to know what error codes you are receiving when you get returned to orbit. What does D2 report as your NAT type? Also, is your “modem” in fact a modem, or is it a gateway (combo modem/router)? If a gateway, you’ll want to log into it and put it into modem mode/bridge mode. You can also connect your pc directly to the modem/gateway and see if that helps with the lag/disconnects. If it solves the lag problems, that would be better than getting an “A” grade for bufferbloat.

    • I have exactly the same problem, a few days ago everything was fine and there it lag every 5 seconds... PvP or PvE it changes nothing, like i shoot on an ennemy and after 3 seconds he appears else where and i die...

    • Hi. Thanks for your report. This sounds like a connection issue of some kind is occurring. This could be an internet service provider issue. If you are on a wireless connection, a wired connection is recommended to play Destiny. If your internet connection is being used for anything else besides playing the game, such as watching a movie or streaming, it's recommended to quit those programs. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:
1. Clearing your console cache or Performing a Scan and Repair in the Battle.net app 2. Power cycling your internet router 3. Review our guide on improving latency and packet loss to see if that might help 4. Following our Network Troubleshooting Guide for best optimizing your connection to Destiny.
