There are two different types of solo players. The smart and content ones, and the stupid but self-entitled ones. The smart and content solo player understands that they are buying a game that is primarily about group based activities. They understand that if they only play solo that they won’t be able to do certain activities, but that’s okay for them because they knew what they were getting into when they bought destiny. Of course if they want to do those group activities they understand that they could always just join a group, no big deal. The stupid and self-entitled solo player doesn’t understand that destiny is primarily about group based activities. They fail to understand that they won’t be able to do certain activities if they only play solo, and complain to bungie to focus more on they want instead of what bungie wants. They saw that destiny was about but bought it anyway. Instead of comprehending that they won’t get to do everything or get everything and move on to a different game that better suits their interest, they instead complain to bungie and pretend that they are somehow better than everybody else and deserve the game to be made to fit their needs. Like the smart solo players they know that they could always just join a group, however these solo players are far too stubborn to join a group, and like to make a big deal about it and how they shouldn’t have to join a group. So, which kind of solo player are you?

  • I’m the ‘smart’ one, and I like it that way.

  • Haha it's so true it's funny. Il buy a multiplayer games then complain it doesn't offer me all activities as a solo player. Do you think of the players complaining below will message each other and make a group....think not.

  • Like I said, they know they can make a group to do the activities, they’re just to stubborn.

  • It's always been the case, anyone who raids though is elitist, even though the vast majority of raiders are solo players who post on lfg, but the mere thought of the concept is ridiculous apparently.

  • Aren't you the mr.fatalist? So just because something works for you and not for others, i doesn't need to change, right? Wrong. If i am paying a game to do something, and it is done so in a way that like minded people like me; then the game should find another way to make things work.

  • You pay to play the game, not have it bend to your every whim. Imagine a co-op player buying Skyrim and expecting Bethesda to add multiplayer purely because they *gasp* bought the game

  • Because its ridiculous, unrealistic, and that saying isnt literal. Anyone who thinks it is usually treats retail workers like shit. Dont be that guy. Nobody likes that guy. Want a totally solo experience? Buy one of the myriad solo player games out there.

  • In my opinion, a multiplayer game should always find the middle ground at satisfying it's playerbase. Look at the menagerie. If you learn how to do that activity by doing it's normal version, eventually, you will not feel anxious about doing things wrong in it's Heroic version. That's because you are able to learn it by experiencing it from the first hand. In the raids, if you do not have friends to teach you how to do the activity, you are -blam!- out of luck. You have to learn it by watching a video for -blam!- sake, let alone trying to experience it.

  • Its telling that out of the myriad activities within this game, you can only cite two that you have an issue with. How much of the co-op experience has to be neutered until you're happy? Should co-op players only have one activity? None?

  • I never said that co-op should be neutered. I am saying that in order to do that co-op activity, if somebody is going to make a specific mechanic of that activity work, then let it be that someone else who can do a better job at doing things than me. I will be the one to provide whatever fire support i can give.

  • No, thats not at all what you said.
then the game should find another way to make things work.
You want the game to change to suit you, in the teeny tiny minority of activities where it doesnt.

  •
then the game should find another way to make things work.
I meant it for all the other people like me. Not just for myself. If you think that i am alone at this as a casual player, look at the amount of people who voted themselves as a solo player. That alone should speak volumes. It may look 500 or so, but it is much larger, just like your 200 or so numbers that is currently visible.

  • The majority of the game already caters to you. The vast, overwhelming majority. There are maybe 2 activities that are geared towards co-op players and here you are asking for them to be neutered for you. Thats what I'm saying - you and everyone else who shares your viewpoint are incredibly selfish. You have to have everything even when you already have the lions share.

  • Yes. That is right. II have to have everything, because i have paid the same price as you did to buy this game to have those experiences. Just because i am not social, doesn't mean that i have no part in some of the activities of this game. You have no right to judge me, and people like me, like this.

  •
Just because i am not social
So the rest of us who enjoy Social experiences have to miss out because you arent social. This really IS a you problem!

  • I never said that your experience needs to be taken in order to equalize the ground. I said that the system needs to be changed or altered to a certain degree that people like me can enjoy whatever you enjoy as well.

  • Thats the thing, it cant be. Water down the challenge, the whole point of Raids evaporates and then I might as well spend the rest of my Destiny days playing Strikes. If you want to experience a social game mode, go and do it. Only barrier here is you.

I’ve seen horrible teams take an hour+ before completing it when it should take 20-30 min. And that content is watered down for simpletons.

So what? In the end you still manage to complete it anyways. Besides, sooner or later, other people learn to do that activity better and faster than you, FOR you.

  • No, the game should not form to fit whatever playstyle you want.

In case you are blind, let me remind you: I am not the only casual solo player who wants to be able to do what the "oh so exclusive and hardcore" players are doing or have done. Doing an activity just to feel exclusive. That's the most pathetic thing i have ever had the "chance" to experience in this game, among all of it's positive sides. the way of Heroic Menagerie is correct. The way of the raids are NOT.

  •
Doing an activity just to feel exclusive.
This is the saddest, most jealous and green-eyed opinion I have ever seen. Nobody Raids to feel "exclusive". We raid because we enjoy the activity, the teamwork, the (initial) challenge. If I did it to feel exclusive I wouldnt have 130 sherpas clocked up in D2 and probably double that in D1. Get off your -blam!-ing high horse.
