All activities should be matchmade in all difficulties. That’s how the majority of players feel, as can be seen from this poll (76+%, sorry fanboys, you’re nothing as usual) and many other posts (there is never a thread that asks for matchmaking be removed and gets uovotes, but there are a lot asking for matchmaking). The problem is that next season, bungie will add a paid horde activity that is pretty much a reckoning re-skin with 3 tiers (I don’t like the idea of 3 tiers by the way) called the ‘vex offensive.’ Now, they have confirmed that tier 3 will NOT have matchmaking. Why? Just like with heroic menagerie, the hard mode is the only 1 that’s worth it in terms of challenging encounters and loot. Why do we HAVE to go outside the game in order to do bungie’s job for them? What’s the difference between people in LFG or matchmade? Either way, you may have terrible or good teammates (unless maybe you’re an elitist who checks everyone’s clears which bungie shouldn’t encourage and it doesn’t guarantee a good team anyway). These hacks need to STOP fighting the community on what WE want. We already let them get away with re-skinning raid armour and their infinite monetisation scams, the least they could do is add something we want that costs them absolutely nothing. They said ‘players will decide where the game goes,’ but obviously that was yet another marketing lie BS. When did they ever consult players on removing matchmaking from important activities? Never, because they’re lying pieces of shit.

  •
Have fun playing raids matchmade and with no communication
That’s my choice, not yours or bungie’s. in fact, this is bungie’s fault, since they make the default mic setting so you can’t hear your teammates, so they need to fix their shit. They know we want mice to be opt-out instead of opt-in, they just don’t care. Also, I’ve had people on LFG without mics, because guess what, like I said, they’re the same people, you are just forced to do bungie’s job for them and waste your time with sometimes loud assholes or jerks that kick you right before killing the boss, etc. LFG is not always a cake walk. Sometimes you can’t even find people to run your selected activity. Why should I be forced to waste 30 minutes off the game just to quickly do something?

  • Because you know what you signed up for when using lfg. How about you, yes you, make the post instead of joining up on one. You get to set the reaquirements of who gets to join or not, and kick whoever you like if they decide to show there true colors

  • There's already matchmaking for Raids and you're required to have a mic. You should close the curtains your fanboy is showing.

You mean waiting 1 hour to find a raid, just for the team to vote to disband?

  • Exactly why there should be regular matchmaking where everyone needs a mic. You can also require a voice que to verify a working microphone.

  • It will only end in a bunch of players coming back to the forums and complaining why there raid team left, or vote to kicked them. Most solo players dont know that raids require coordination. Check my raid report in D1 and D2. Im a solo player aswell, but my mind isnt excluded from realism

  • Your mind most definitely is excluded from realism since you are arguing with this. I have a 60% raid failure rating from D1 because I had to find groups on LFG or friends and we would just get stuck. I've had players give us directions and they would constantly mess up their own parts and just leave without warning. Matchmaking is how you make friends and build groups. Most players don't want to sift through the clans page on a website, avoiding the clans that have requirements and rules just to find a nice laid back clan to do a raid, and LFG is the single most toxic place to get a raid group on the internet. The fact that because YOU have a solid group makes you think other people should have to spend the time you did getting it is the reason why this post exists, because you're toxic and don't want players to just enjoy themselves the way THEY want to. It's their choice not yours bud, you need to open your ind to the world and realize there are other people.

I most certainly dont have a solid group. Im a solo player. Instead what I do is teach other how to complete the raids. That requires research on my part and multiple attempts at the raid for me to learn the mechanics. Even if we dont conplete it, i walk out of there knowing how to complete that encoulnter People just want to jump in blindly, expect a carry, and call it a day. Can you find a raid team that can do that? Yes, but they are very, very rare. As you mentioned yourself, you have a 60% fail rate. How about you contribute in teaching those what they are doing wrong, help them understand the mechanics and dumb it down for them if you have to. Make it clear what is their objective, instead of blaming everything on the game.

  • That's what I do, I was a Sherpa for the King's Fall and Crota's End raids, most of my completions of the raids were from being in strike or crucible playlists and asking people if they wanted to raid, where as most of my failures were with "multiple completions, weapons required, etc." LFG posts. Matchmaking in anything is a great way to build the community as a whole, and based on your last comment I am utterly confused as to why you wouldn't want matchmaking in every activity. There will always be a someone wanting a free carry, that's why vote to kick should be reworked, and it should require actual reasoning to perform the action and it should only be available to perform between events, which would limit players getting kicked at the final boss and what not.

In theory yes, matchmaking for raids would be great. But dude, you fail to relize why it wont work. Yes there is some sort of matchmaking in D2 for raids with guided games. However that requires a fireteam of 3 from the same clan or and have sworn to teach you. If matchmaking was allowed for raids, you will be pared up with people who do not have any experience what so ever with said raid. A whole team who doesnt know what to do or does not want to learn how to do it is destined to fail
