Just curious how many people enjoy playing comp for fun.

2 RepliesBecause it’s better than quickplay.

3 RepliesRumble is trash. The spawns are bad, the maps are so small that you get tons of clean ups and it’s usually just a race between the two decent players to see who can farm the noobs the fastest. 6v6 is just awful

Every season I enjoy comp more and more. And I am pulling my clan slowly in it. 4v4 is a nice break from 6v6 and some stakes make the wins more sweet. I have the pinnacle weapons so the stress of points no longer affects me. Plus it feels good when you help your friends achieve something they previously thought was impossible.
-
For the change of pace and to guarantee I am playing against the better half of the player base. Always end up playing someone who teaches me something new by hitting an angle I never knew or a combination of moves I didn’t think about. My goal this season is to just to play and not be worried about the results so I don’t get tilted.

7 RepliesCos the sweaties moved to quickplay to pub-stomp
-
Got every pinnacle besides nf, but that’s because I don’t have a dedicated team to improve with.
-
I did it to see if I could get recluse. I did, and never went back. I might finish up the Luna's quest one day. I'm just not in any rush.
Just curious how many people enjoy playing comp for fun.
Just for pinnacles. I would like to see the ranking system expanded to bring it in line with the standard set in other games where you play the competitive version because your rank comes with a seasonal cosmetic reward. I think that would help get players more engaged with the playlist. OP pve weapons are cool and all, but I imagine having a seasonal emblem with variants for what rank you ended in would get more engagement. Of course for players to really want to participate Bungie would need to address cheating and account recoveries better.

2 RepliesWould love to select both options but i can't. I love playing for pinnacles because they're fun and good weapons but i also like playing it for fun since its one of the only ways to get a difficult pvp experience.
-
6 RepliesThe only reason why I would play comp is a chance of getting that catalyst for MIDA Multitool
-
I like playing it with friends, plus its a great way to level up both Glory and Valor rank.
-
I want to play comp for fun, since I enjoy 4v4 far more than 6v6, but the general unbalanced of pvp makes it more tedious than anything, and the players abusing the meta doesn’t help.
-
I honestly like 4v4 better but I'm generally just not a competitive person so Ranked Playlists have no appeal to me.
-
haven't played Comp. since pinnacle weapons became a thing. used to enjoy it.
-
Just did it to collect the pinnacle weapons. Probably the only reason anyone does it.
-
Just need my Revoker and Recluse. Then I’m outta there!
-
Played it for recluse and lunas. Got them both solo. Honestly can’t say I enjoyed playing comp though. Despise the P2P connections.
-
I only play it for the pinnacles but I do enjoy it too
-
Trick question. I don’t
-
Pinnacles honestly and maybe NF if I can ever get to it :/
-
I really enjoy it when i take it seriously. Cant wait for solo que next season. Hate playing with lfg people, half the time its arguing. I actually hit 3k today solo, but lost and down to 27ish. Really enjoy the grind for the weapons. Dont think ill ever get nf though or the crucible seal. But who knows.

I initially started comp because I really wanted the luna’s howl. I would get up early in the morning to get some matches in. Comp had it’s ups and downs, frustrations, however comp has it’s “play of the game” moments. Like those 1v3 moments or miracle plays that you just barely win. Pinnacle weapons were kinda fun to just chase but I play comp because it’s more fun than quickplay sometimes.
-
Because most maps were designed for 4v4 and 6v6 is a cluster -blam!-.

1 ReplyEdited by Sweet Lew 88: 9/8/2019 5:07:01 AMI save my glory to help people that cant make it to Fabled. I like comp below 2100 glory. Pinnacle weapons are fun to get. NF is not on the table for me.

Upvote for visibility. Forums, small sample size, biased people. I'd still bet over half the people don't want to be there in a legit sampling. It's the primary reason there's so much salt surrounding PvP.

It really grinds my gears when I see a guy with recluse in comp when I'm 1300 and dont even have the weapon. Like ffs get outta my game you got no reason to be here other than to make it worse for people.
