How is PvP "skill" being calculated in Shadowkeep?

I will preface this post with the fact I am average at PVP. With that said, I have been grinding the crap out of the Crucible (all solo queue) in hopes to complete all the pinnacle weapon quests i.e Luna, Mountain top, Recluse, Redrix. I am no pvp God, but I can hold my own. On my journey I noticed that in order to expedite the process on these quests I have played rather careless and bad. My game history will show this; all in order complete these quest steps. Examples: Running 3 grenade launchers, Gunslinger~(I'm terrible with Gunslinger) and all solar weapons, and now using two handcannons to get those precision handcannon kills in Competitive. I have purposely put myself at a disadvantage, in most, if not all engagements knowing I am most likely to lose the duel. I find myself running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to win 1v1's and 1v2's when I know I should be using a different loadout. I can't count how many times I was like, " if only I was using a pulse rifle" or " too bad I didn't have shotgun or a fusion rifle for that guy rushing me". I am sure most who are on the road to complete these quests or have already done so can relate. All this in hopes I will sneak away with enough kills to make progress on the quest. I have watched my Glory rank tank over the past week as well as my oh so average KDA/KD. So my questions are, will any of the factors be taken in to account when my "skill" is measured? Will Bungie provide more specific details on how this will be calculated?
