Build Info
Windows 10 Home Version 1903
CPU: 4790K @ 4 GHZ (Stock)
GPU: EVGA 1080TI SC2
RAM: 16GB DDR3
MOBO: MSI MS7917 (Z97 Gaming 5)
All settings are set to highest with Depth of Field disabled and at a 1440p resolution.
I will get 100+ fps in certain areas like the tutorial area which I get 100+ fps. However, in certain areas on Titan and even spawning into the EDZ, my FPS will drop to a constant 58ish which seems very low for what I am running. I would expect to run at least 100+ even with all these settings on high. I have tried lowering settings but oddly enough, it barely improves fps (+3 to +7), even lowering resolution to 1080P. I have noticed that my GPU load will hover around 50% which seems low considering the FPS I am getting and CPU will hover around 60-70%. GPU usage is usually higher in most games.
This seems very wrong
Steps I have tried
Re-install graphics driver with DDU
Uninstall GForce Experience
Disable Game Bar/Mode
Disable Fullscreen Optimization
Disable HPET in Bios
Ran FireStrike to validate performance (Scores are average, looks fine here)
Setting Max Performance in Nvidia Control Panel
Running Repair tool in Battle.net

2 RepliesYou can try to delete your CVARS.xml file. There is also a bug in Windows 10 1903 right now that causes CPUs to tie up resources in Cortana. There is a registry edit that can work around it. I'd Google it and see if that helps too.

I also noticed this problem, only on Destiny 2 - 2080ti and 9900k with windows 1809 up to date , 32gb ram,1440p... i dont have this problem on any other game - on all of them have 100% gpu ussage but on destiny 2 cant get more than 80% and i have huge fps drops sometimes.Rolled back with older driver but that seems doesnt solve the problem...btw dont use latest nvidia driver...its disaster and gpu ussage its even worse with him..

I having the same problem. It gets specially bad when I am in the tower, my GPU usage is always at 40-50%. It is so weird because last I played the game which was about three weeks ago, I was averaging 140fps gaming at 1440p on high settings. Now in tower it won't go above 60 on same settings. When I go into other areas it barely manages to stay above 60fps but still GPU only at 50% load. It is so frustrating, I have tried just about everything reinstalling GPU drivers, Geforce experience, and uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Can someone please help. My Specs are MSI RTX 2080 i9 9900k 32gb DDR4 MSI Z390 MB 1tb SSD

2 RepliesI recently picked up a 1080 to replace my 1060 6g in hopes to run 1080p @ 144hz... Like you, I notice that my GPU loads around 60-70% in many scenarios, but the CPU is only around 50-60%. I often do not increase my FPS over what I was getting with the 1060. I have tried raising and lowering the settings. I also notice that I can increase the render resolution up to almost 180% without any impact in performance on low to medium settings. My specs are Asrock Z370M Extreme4 7700k @ 4.8-5.1ghz (tested multiple settings) DDR4 3200/3366 Gigabyte 1080 G1 512gb SSD At first I suspected that I could possibly be bottlenecking the GPU, but the telemetry does not show any core coming close to 100% while in game. Uninstalled/cleaned/installed new drivers, tried unparking cores, disabling windows gaming, any recording of gameplay, and just about everything that I could think of, with no change to performance. High Performance power profile, with prefer max performance in the Nvidia control panel. I can test in Fire Strike and score as I should, with the GPU hitting 99% throughout all of the run. I think that there must be an issue in this title, since I do not notice any issues in anything else that I have tested which would show a hardware issue. My brother had low GPU use on his 2500k with a GTX980, but the CPU would peg at 100% at times, which explained that issue... but this is something completely different where the CPU and GPU are not hitting 100% and showing that one is bottlenecking the other.

3 RepliesHave you checked your GPU/CPU temps to make sure one is not thermal throttling?
