[Edit] Due to the amount of people taking this post out of context and obviously not reading the post in its entirety (which I am not surprised by), if you comment here and it’s obvious you didn’t read the whole post before contributing to the discussion, you will be reported. [End Edit]
Please read this post in its entirety. I don’t want to confuse anyone.
If you read Bungie’s Terms of Use carefully, especially where it discusses griefing, you will realize that A LOT of players violate Bungie’s Terms of Use habitually and they get away with it because either people don’t report the bad behavior or they just don’t know it’s a violation.
Spamming special ammo weapons (fusions, shotguns, grenade launchers, snipers, Arbalist, etc), without using a primary ammo weapon is griefing/sabotage. This does NOT mean that someone who repeatedly uses any of those weapons is violating Bungie’s Terms of Use. It’s only a violation when they don’t use anything else. For example, in a Crucible match, if someone has a sniper and a fusion equipped, their ammo they spawn with is reduced by half. Scavenger perks are not potent enough to make the player have a substantial amount of ammo when picked up either. If said player is using nothing but said weapons, habitually, persistently, and repeatedly, it is a violation of Bungie’s Terms of Use. Another example is someone who has a primary ammo weapon equipped but is spamming Mountaintop non-stop and not using their primary ammo weapon at all, even when out of special ammo, is also a violation of Bungie’s Terms of Use.
If you believe someone is griefing this way, I encourage you to be sure that they are indeed griefing. Some times it may go missed if that person may or may not have been using a primary ammo weapon too. You should be able to tell if they are spamming or not. If you still don’t know, record the match and you may even want to consider sending them a private message warning them that you suspect they are griefing and let them know you are recording the match and will report them if they do not correct their bad behavior.
Again, I hope you have read the post in its entirety before you start sending hate messages. Not everything is considered griefing. Using only a particular special ammo weapon type or types in a match is griefing.
With all of these one-hit-kill weapons available now and without Bungie expediting balances and fixes to these weapons, it is critical we all hold each other accountable and make the gameplay run a lot smoother and make it more fun for everyone. Spamming Jotunn or Militia’s Birthright non-stop is not only annoying and inconsistent with Bungie’s vision for these weapons, it is a violation of Bungie’s Terms of Use. If you decide to report someone, please be sure they were indeed griefing. Reporting people just because you think they are griefing but unsure may end up getting you suspended or banned too. If you don’t know how to report people, Bungie has detailed this for us in their Terms of Use available here in the app. Report them for “griefing” and then the next option is “sabotage.”

Yawn.

Edited by Soupreem: 9/5/2019 3:23:55 PMLast I checked, using a gun in PvP as intended doesn't fit the definition of "griefing" or "sabotage." Both of those would be throwing games, abusing body-block mechanics, etc. Using double scavenger perks to spam a special is annoying, but it isn't sabotage. By that same logic, people using Ace of Spades to near-2 shot people is griefing, as is spamming Shoulder Charge with Skullfort. Using intentionally designed parts of a game isn't griefing, and unless you can cite the specific part of the ToS/EULA that outlines otherwise, I can't take your discussion seriously. Report me here if you want, they won't ban me for something like this.

This is just pathetic. Overusing special weapons is, at most, annoying. Griefing would be repeated team suicides or running at the enemy to feed kills, shooting at teammates or intentionally causing their deaths, pulling power and jumping off the map (legit strategy in rumble), coordinating a spawntrap where the enemy team dies before they can move, etc... Some guy shotgunning you a bunch for a whole match isn't griefing, and reporting it as such is an abuse of the reporting system, which is punishable. Also, and I can't believe I have to say it, your top comment threatening a report for people who disagree is another abuse of the system. You have no case, my friend

Hold on I remember you. You left my clan.

5 RepliesYou are mistaken. Please refer to the shared link, specifically: Legitimate Player Behavior that will not result in Restrictions or Bans ... Bungie will not punish a player for just playing the game. Players are encouraged to enjoy Destiny in whatever way they find fun: dancing on a Vendor’s head in the Tower, spamming grenades in Crucible matches, or just climbing a cliff in the open world to sit for hours enjoying the gorgeous view. It’s the player’s choice on how to they wish to enjoy their time in Destiny. If they are merely playing the game, then they are not doing anything wrong.

5 RepliesSooo... To be clear, you're saying that when people can continually use special ammo guns, they're in violation of the TOS? How? If they're cheating and somehow have infinite special ammo, then sure? But if you're just playing the game, and you've got a blast furnace and an Erentil equipped, and you can get off a bunch of Erentil kills, and thanks to double scavenger perks you can just keep using Erentil instead of having to swap, and you're not cheating, then I don't see how it's a violation of the TOS

Yes I read the entire thing ,as a matter of fact it was so goddamn funny I read it twice. if you are actually reporting people for this you are a very sad sad person. Please take a break from the virtual world you apparently need it.
-
Playing the game=griefing. I guess.
-
How exactly do you know what Bungie's vision for any weapon is? It sounds to me like you want everyone to play the way you want them to which is very childish. But then to take the step to report someone because you don't like their play style is very much griefing by definition. You seem like the kind of snowflake that ruins everything just because you can. Entitled much?
-
Well this is the biggest stretch I’ve ever seen

*laughs in rally barricade sweet business spam*

Any reason you hide your game history?

Wait, what?? Is this really what it’s come to? 😂😂😂 my lord. Guys using your favorite gun is now against bungos terms of service. Thanks for the laugh

1 ReplyI thought this post was a joke but the length of the OP makes me think they are being serious. I like the part where they say they are spamming weapons like mountain top even when out of special ammo. How do you spam a weapon when you have no ammo for it?
-
1 ReplyYeah when I play For Honor I'm griefing when I throw 6 heavies in a single fight. I'm griefing when I control power weapon spawns in Halo 3. I'm griefing when I spawn a vehicle in GTA Using special isn't griefing, you're just reaching for straws to feel better about yourself
-
U have entered the twilight zone
-
Just sounds like you can’t counter special weapons and just don’t like anyone who uses them. Btw if we are trully doing this, your post is grieving. It’s repeating vamping my gameplay experience by this toxic post that continually harassed my gameplay style.
-
Reported for griefing about nothing.
-
6 RepliesWow, that’s a lot of bait. Bungie must have made the changes to the weapon system in Forsaken that lets you run triple shotgun and marketed it because they wanted to catch and ban griefers for “breaking TOS”.
-
Kind of confused. How is this griefing? These are the mechanics of the game. Bungie even said in Forsaken trailer “You can even go triple shotgun.”

Other than what you said is garbage talk....i think bungie needs to change some of the topics ......when reporting someone at least update some like bad connection why the hell you would report someone for bad connection when they cant see or realize they have crappy connection .....and quitting early alot of times you cant remember who it is.....rework the report process!!!
-
I stopped reading after your silly disclaimer about reporting people. You’re not worth my time.

Definitely a troll
