60 for a year isn't bad at all. Most people spend more than that on garbage food for lunches or similar in a week. Look at it that way and if you like the game it's not that much.

Never defend anything with blanket statements. Just because some people are willing to blow money on junk food and be ripped off doesnt mean everyone is. I like Destiny. Been with it since Taken King. And you're right, $60 isn't so bad for a year. But when a portion of my $60 value gets deleted, I take issue with that. I also take issue with the fact that somehow Destiny is marketing itself as "Free To Play" yet still charges a premium to continue major content.

Well technically they're not wrong. You will be able to play the game for free. Just not the newest stuff. I don't think there will ever be a perfect way to monetize games as devs do need to make money.

Literally the only way it benefits anyone is if they don't have a console sub like Xbox Live or PSN. Stadia is sub only and I don't think Steam requires a sub? Majority of registered D2 players have already purchased the free content unless their online gaming sub gave it away for free. So, the amount of players it benefits isn't going to be very high. It's an extremely silly gamble that people are going to flock to Destiny when there are other, more popular F2P games out there. Destiny has never been popular enough to warrant such a cocky gamble.
