Okay so for the longest time I’ve wondered if there was an ornament for the Redrix Broadsword. I had looked it up a few times in the past & never seemed to find a legitimate answer. But upon searching yesterday I found that a lot of people are saying that the only ornament is the one earned for the Redrix Claymore. To be honest and this is just my own personal opinion, But that is f*cking stupid. I get it people worked hard to earn that well either that or paid someone to get it for them. But there was a good amount of work that went into earning the Broadsword as well. Was it the same as the Claymore no, Not even close. But I feel there should at least be an ornament for the Broadsword that could’ve been earned or at least something that stayed around for those of us that put in work to get it. Even if it was the dumbed down version there was still a good amount of work that went into earning that weapon. See below:
Step 1:
• In the Crucible. Defeat 200 opponents with Pulse Rifle final blows.
Step 2:
• Reach Valor Rank “Heroic”
Step 3:
• In the Crucible. Earn 75 Double Plays.
Step 4:
• In the Crucible. Defeat 150 opponents with precision final blows from any Pulse Rifle.
Step 5:
• In the Crucible, defeat 50 opponents with Arc final blows
• In the Crucible, defeat 50 opponents with Solar final blows
• In the Crucible, defeat 50 opponents with Void final blows
Step 6:
• Complete 25 Crucible matches in Quickplay (Rotators count)
• Complete 25 Crucible matches in Competitive
• Complete 25 Crucible matches in Rumble
Step 7:
• Complete 20 Crucible Bounties
Step 8:
• Reset your Valor rank 5 times within a single season
Step 9:
• Visit Lord Shaxx and claim your reward.
So as you can see there was still a good amount of time that went into this. Especially 5 Valor resets in a single season. Which takes a GOOD amount of time. I think for me it took about a month of playing crucible and crucible ONLY. I get it I earned the weapon I should be happy but if the only ornament that can be put on it is the one for the Claymore (which CANNOT be gotten anymore) then it would seem fitting to just not have an ornament option for the Broadsword PERIOD, or at very least once we claimed the Broadsword there could have been a side quest to earn that same ornament or a slight variation on it since Bungie is so obsessed with recycling things. At least that way the same amount of effort would gave gone into the Broadsword as was put into earning the Claymore and it’s ornament. Which would not ruin it for those who earned/paid for the original weapon. Not only would we have to grind out the steps to get the Broadsword but, there would be an additional set of steps to unlock either the original ornament or a new one. We already know we didn’t earn the Claymore since it’s a completely different weapon with an entirely different set of quest steps, I mean I get it the ornament was a way to show off all the work or money spent that went into earning/buying it and sets it apart from the Broadsword but god damn, they are two completely different weapons.

I know this post is really old and I don’t know how I found it but, you know that only around a hundred or less players got the claymore ornament? It is the most difficult thing to get in the game.

18 RepliesSadly the gun sucks anyway , I can’t see them giving such an old weapon a buff .

Edited by Overload Captain: 9/5/2019 3:07:47 AMI personally think that not every gun needs an ornament. If it did have one it would be eververse anyway. Also I think the gun looks fine, it's one of the D1 pulse rifles but with a crucible design. Edit: I don't like the trend of pinnacle weapons getting eververse ornaments, I like that raid weapons don't get them.

2 RepliesI believe the only way to access the ornament was to reach legend in the season where redrix was the pinnacle reward

I have and use my Broadsword a lot, and I've seen the ornament for the Claymore, but I think Broadsword looks much better with some of the Shaders in the game than it would with the ornament. I cant remember the names of some of them but, Suros Modular Shine (?) and Noble Constant Red look good while keeping with the Crucible red/white/black color palette. I've got an all black one, a green and gold one, etc. To me that just looks better. All the Claymore ornament does is invert the red and white, and clean up the wear state.

4 RepliesFor a period of time the Redrix Claimore was a top tier weapon, that's why the quest steps were so long to get it. It was a way for people who didn't have the skill to grind comp to still get the gun. That's why there are so many steps.

10 RepliesWhat the hell does it matter? It's a time consuming yet easy quest. Not every damn gun needs an ornament. Just be happy that they even gave scrubs a chance to earn a weapon lile the broadsword
