This post is an idea post where we will come up with new factions for enemies we've faced before and enemy factions from the lore. You must include their name, race, tech/art theme, location, and a little bit of background.
ex.
Name: The House of Seraphs
Race: Fallen
Tech/Art theme: Warmind tech mixed fallen weapons (lots of blue and orange lights on their gear which is made of Fallen metal with Serephite made weapon attachments.
Location: Hellas Basin Mars and Old Russia Earth
Background: Once a group of Devil Splicers, these Eliksni decided to not to forcefully take the Technology of the Warmind and because of it Aksis and Vosik agreed to kick them out of the house. They stole a servitor and decided to hide in the Warmind's bunker during the SIVA Crisis. During their time in the bunker they heard a voice that they would come to know as The Kell of War, in reality this voice was Rasputin trying take this chance to ask these Eliksni questions about their kind. The Splicers eventually formed a religion based on Rasputin and formed a Cult called the House of Seraphs. After the SIVA Crisis was finished and the Devil Splicers' leadership was lost some left to Spider, others went to become Dusk fallen, but some remained in Russia and found the House of Seraphs, the Archon of the House of Seraphs, known as Friskas, Archon Prophet. The Seraph Fallen decided to continue Rasputin's experiments with Fallen tech and eventually learned about the Helas Basin and how Rasputin's main core is there. From there these Fallen waited until the end of the Red War to steal a Ketch from the House of Dusk, from there Friskas sent a group of Archons to the Mindlab to make sure no hostile forces will interfere with Friskas while he meet's Rasputin.

4 RepliesEdited by superskybro: 8/31/2019 12:00:34 AMFlame Belcher's: Cabal Legion Location: eye of Jupiter Incredibly adept at dealing with scorching hot locals and value solar weapons and fire based tactics over traditional weaponry. Their Primus is notorious for his countless war crimes and tendency to burn both his enemies and soldiers with little remorse, on top of being the sole Legion with access of The Flame of War, a massive floating orb of mechanical engineering and reality melting fire, this weapon has scorched a trail through the galaxy so large it can be seen from Andromeda. Now they seek to surpass the Red Legion in the eyes of the Cabal and have set up the staging ground for their invasion within the swirling vortex of Jupiter, suspended upon a thousand ships itching for combat The whole goal of the DLC where these guys are introduced is to 1. Beef up the red Legion from a lore perspective and 2. Kill the Primus and find a way to deactivate The Flame of War before it enters our solar system

1 ReplyEdited by Azoths_Gambit: 9/4/2019 3:42:47 PMEvil Lightbearers, Evil Exos and robots, Evil humans or awoken, Because the largest threat to our continued existence is ourselves. Not every enemy faction needs to be an alien race or paracasual force. Besides with those types of enemies we wouldn't have to worry about a ground stomp knockback during boss fights. Edit: To expand upon it, I hope some day there is a faction war between the Drifters crew and the Vangaurd Loyalists, I'm not asking for pvp every where but more modes like Gambit that are PvEvP and also AI controlled enemy Lightbearers could allow them to tell that kind of story with out adding too much PvP. Not to mention other games have a follower system imagine if D2 did then when your playing solo you would have a bit of help from an AI. I'd run a strike with an AI Lord Shaxx just for the dialogue. LoL

Name: The Remnant Race: SIVA infected Hive Art Theme: Sharp angular prices of armor colored black. Green runes imprinted randomly throughout the armor. Weapons are attached to their bodies by SIVA nanotechnology. Location: The Plaguelands, Earth. Somewhere on Luna. Background: A group of Hive stranded on Earth after the defeat of Crota and his officers found their way into the Plaguelands. They encountered SIVA and managed to use Hive magic to make a twisted new version of the nanotechnology. These Hive then proceeded to modify ships and make their way back to the Hellmouth only to find their god dead and his forces defeated. They proceeded to attack what remained of the Fallen House of Exiles. They used their new modified technology to infect the Fallen that they captured. This ended up giving them a legion of Fallen exhibiting traits of complete obedience. Soon with their new army of Fallen they managed to break into Golden age complexes on Earth and Luna. They used the databanks there to salvage what data they could about SIVA. With this new knowledge they modified the SIVA nanotechnology further to allow them to change the nature of their modifications at will. This resulted in extreme versatility in tactics and allowed them to establish a good foothold on Luna. With this established they began to notice strange things unfolding around them. A new structure had emerged on Luna and they mobilised their forces to move on the scarlet fortress.

Enemy humans. Their ranks consist of dredgens and and normal humans. The will appear in fewer numbers than most, but have a very hyperactive AI. Move as much as possible, take pot shots, jump and dodge. Dredgens r able to use abilities Normal guardians can use. If a human sees you aiming in their direction, they’ll peer out different sides to see if you are still waiting.

guardians. anywhere between shadows of yor, rouges who resent the vanguard, or just some grumpy guy ready to take out his anger on your sparrow. it'd be cool to have to counter your own weapons and abilities, say, in story missions, or when you're exploring. maybe even turn friendly fire on during public events or raids for some added difficulty. alternatively, have it on a switch, like having your helmet on or off, in settings. dueling people in patrol would be super fun, i think.

The Malcontent Basically bunch'a people disgruntled with the traveler and the guardians, darkness prone and some of them straight up corrupted-dredgen-yor-style. Their background can bevaried, but the running theme is that they were wronged by guardians or someone/thing related in the past and banded together the vent out their grievances. Queue in classic bandits/pillagers, common criminals of the sort and the afore-mentioned, corrupted people that basically gave in to darkness. The lore could be something along-the-lines-of: When mankind first met that wandering bum, a sect of people distrusted his intentions and formed something of a movement/rebellion againt him; forsaking all help he offered, kind-of-like an evil amish, and for the large part of the golden age they've been pushed around and reigned chaos during the dark age, wanting to either destroy or takeover the last city, blow up the traveler and kill all guardians.

Edited by Corrick II: 8/31/2019 7:43:49 PMSomething with a locomotive method other than bipedal. Spiders, crabs, alien whatever’s. Avian? Chozo-like creatures. It would play havoc with pathing but something that can crawl around on walls and ceilings. Maybe rogue human Factions with their own style of fighting, guerilla tactics, mechanized, etc. “Our own worst enemy” so to speak. And, as always, my own personal favorite: Lovecraftian beasts, with eyes and tentacles and what have you. Riven is a good start, at least get something out of that design. Wasn’t my first thought for an Ahamkara but whatever. Oh, yeah, and actual dragons, or some derivation.
