I recently posted that I needed help with removing an old Xbox account from my bungie profile that after speaking with Xbox about, I can no longer log into. From what I’ve read on the forums is, if you have an account like this on your bungie account you should unlink all your accounts you can still access and make a new bungie account.
I can’t understand why this is the “fix”. Why can’t we just have it where you choose the accounts you want and continue with those. I’m not planning to play destiny on Xbox, so why do I need to authenticate it? Why can’t I just authenticate my Steam and PlayStation accounts an move on?
I know in the end it’s just emblems I’m giving up by making a new account but some of them I paid money to get. Is there a way to transfer them over? Either way I know it’s kind of petty but I’ve had this account for 9ish years. Why should I have to abandon it?

1 ReplyUnfortunately, Bungie cannot access our linked accounts, as those require the login credentials which Bungie is not privy to. I noticed in your post that you mention linking your PSN and Steam. As Destiny is not currently playable on Steam, you cannot directly link to Steam. If you own the game on Battle.net, then you link from Battle.net to Steam, which will migrate your data and licenses on Oct 1st (separate from cross-save). If you’re waiting for New Light and Shadowkeep before playing on PC, so that you can play via Steam, then you would only activate cross-save once your Steam account is active for Destiny.

1 ReplyHi there. You may want to contact Xbox Support about reclaiming this account so you can unlink. Bungie is not able to remove platform accounts from your Bungie profile.

2 RepliesRight. so.
I recently posted that I needed help with removing an old Xbox account from my bungie profile that after speaking with Xbox about, I can no longer log into.
Contact Microsoft and reset the password
I can’t understand why this is the “fix”. Its not a fix that bungie has suggested, that's what players have been suggesting. 2. you would need to authenticate it its for security purpose to ensure that someone doesn't steal your account.
