Can we get a buff sunshot chain going

It's damage is average while having a low mag size of 8 while being a 150 arch. Making just about every other legendary hc better than it. And so many other exotics outshine it . Make sunshot great again!

  • Needs a little more than that. The following are suggestions, not all of it needs to happen to Sunshot, but given how powerful weapons like Outbreak or Badjuju are, I don't believe even if you used them all it be over powered if you did them all. It needs to be reworked so that it's explosive payload is not a detriment to it's lethality against minions in PvE (it reduces damage on precision hits). Between the EP nerf and body shot damage nerf from Forsaken, they hurt Sunshot's ability to start the explosions because it would take more shots to kill things, this compounded twith the issue of the small mag to make it not feel good when used in any meaningful content. The explosion damage might need to go up a tad in PvE. Maybe a built in rampage Esq boost so that as the explosion chains, it gets a bit more effective as the chain goes along. If Iron is on or it's an endgame activity enemies survive the explosions, thus no chain. Making it a weapon that feels great in patrol, but not raids or nightfalls. Or maybe increase the damage the more times the target is struck by sunblasts (taking a page from Oxygen). And a change to actually make use of that useless highlight feature it has. "Allies who kill enemies highlighted by Sunburn cause the target to explode". This makes it so that even if an ally steals the kill, it will still detonate. Pushing it, but maybe even reward allies for doing so by granted some grenade energy (to similar amount that Demolitionist does). Might be good to as part of the catalyst increase the time which targets remain highlighted. Perhaps straight up give the weapon Demolishionist. Chain kills would cause your grenade to come back faster, and the perk itself reloads the weapon if you throw a grenade. Cause booms so that you can throw a boom to so that you can go back to making booms. I know other people suggest ambitious assassin, which would work great for a weapon designed around multikills, but personally like Demolishionist better. And then standard request: >= 2 round extra in the mag.
