I can’t be the only one who thinks this way, having gear locked behind a barrier of PvP, having to hope and pray that your team will be good today so you can get your recluse or trying to slog through to get your mountaintop, Bungie why? Your PvP in destiny is some of the worse I’ve ever played and yet to get certain weapons I have no choice but to play it? I’m sorry but after my third match in a row of having Comp teammates drop out and auto losing the 3v4, 2v4, and in many cases 1v4 is bull, everyone should be able to play the modes they like to get the guns they want, forcing people to play certain modes for certain guns is bull

This is to this day the utmost annoying thing about Destiny 2 and the reason I constantly quit. I HATE PvP.. why should I be FORCED to play content I have no interest in that actively aggravates me (with how utterly stupid and broken it is) just to get a weapon..? Make them require special raid challenges, 200k nightfalls whatever but for %$^" sake stop locking content behind PVP in this BROKEN pvp game.

15 RepliesI have both MT and Recluse and honestly? These should've been PvE pinnacles seeing how powerful they are in PvE. I think both armor and weapons need to be separated into PvP and PvE sets. PvP can roll with stats that are for PvP and vice versa. Not necessarily complaining but, to me it just makes sense.

everyone should be able to play the modes they like to get the guns they want,
I dont think that every gun should be available to everyone that wants one. I like that Bungie makes these weapons accessible but not obtainable for everyone. Some people earn them easily, some people need to gain more skill to obtain these weapons. I think its a good thing, and forces people to improve if they eventually want to get the weapon.

4 RepliesThe gun isn't locked behind anything.. If you don't put in the work to get it than you don't deserve to have the gun plain and simple.. Its not tied behind RNG like so many weapons are in this game especially raid exotics.. Suck it up and put in the work to obtain the gun or sit here and cry about it because youre too lazy to make an attempt at obtaining it

2 RepliesAnyone think locking things behind PvE is wrong? I can’t be the only one who thinks this way, having gear locked behind a barrier of PvE, having to hope and pray that your team will be good today so you can get your 1k Voices or trying to slog through to get your God rolls, Bungie why? Your PvE in destiny is some of the worse I’ve ever played and yet to get certain weapons I have no choice but to play it? I’m sorry but after my third raid in a row of having teammates drop out and auto losing the encounters, and in many cases challenge mode is bull, everyone should be able to play the modes they like to get the guns they want, forcing people to play certain modes for certain guns is bull. See? I can sound idiotic as well. 🤣 No shame in admitting you suck at crucible though. Get good buddy.

Stop locking things behind PvE, give me the raid weapons for playing rumble

I play PVE and I think it’s fine. What I think is kinda dumb is having PVP pinnacle weapons that are better in PVE....than PVE weapons, so naturally PVE players want those weapons. However, even if these are better in PVE, we shouldn’t blame PVP or complain about not doing Crucible Bc at the end of the day, they are PVP weapons. Bungie should just make better PVE pinnacle weapons.

1 ReplyEdited by Thumper_6119: 8/26/2019 9:13:01 PMFrom what I read, your problem is less with the PvP pinnacles being in PvP and is more with people dropping out of matches. (It's not limited to just Comp. It happens in QP and Gambit as well, and strikes are plagued with at well (at least, my experience has been as such). As a mostly (80%) solo player, I can tell you that choosing to play solo comes with a price, and one of those is inconsistent and unreliable teammates. There really is no way to stop people from leaving matches. Bungie can implement whatever types of consequences that they like, it will only discourage people from leaving without actually preventing them from leaving. I hate it when people quit matches too, but that is part of playing an online game with other people, especially if you go into any activity that has matchmaking and you queue into matchmaking with less than a full fireteam. That, in and of itself, is a stand-alone discussion that has born many debates/threads/posts. As far as getting guns that people want, well, I guess I disagree with the OP opinion. If there is a weapon that anyone wants and it requires a specific task or list of tasks to be completed, then the player has to accomplish the tasks to get the gun. That is their choice. Accept the challenge and get the reward for overcoming the challenge, or don't take the challenge and don't receive the reward. It's not a negotiation. There were some guns/armor that I wanted, but they were exclusive raid rewards. I had to find people to raid with and go start trying to complete raids to get the stuff in that loot pool. If I didn't do it, I didn't get the guns/gear that I was after. I like the challenges. Some take me a LOT longer because there may be activities tied to the acquiring the rewards that I either don't like or am not good at, but I will start playing them to achieve the goals that I want. I loathe Gambit, but I sure do love my Malfeasance. Worth the pain in the ass of doing Gambit stuff to get it, but that is just my opinion. Based on the title of the topic, my answer is "no". I don't think having gear locked behind an activity is wrong at all. It's part of the game. So long as all activities are accessible by all players, then I have no grievance with setting pinnacle rewards at the end of said activities or at the end of a quest that involves said activities. To the matter of people leaving activities, I don't like that people leave any activity before the activity is over, but unless I choose to roll into activities with a pre-made fireteam (and not using matchmaking), then I am stuck with what I get, just like everyone else that goes into activities solo or without a full fireteam.

Edited by ZeroSix: 8/28/2019 5:28:00 PMNo. Give me a break...

Comp can be a crap-shoot sometimes. You’ll have people leave your team and sometimes you’ll have people leave the team your facing. I played solo on my way to the Revoker and Luna. I’m not a strong PvP player at all, so it took some time. I just made sure to play at least 3 matches and hoped to make a little progress each week. At reset you get a Glory bonus that helps inch you towards 2100 provided you play at least 3 matches. I had to learn (and still am) to make better reads and be a better support player as I’m not skilled enough to win a lot of 1v1 battles regularly. Good luck ! Don’t give up and remember to take a break from comp when things start getting to you.
-
It’s a pvp and pve so it’s going to happen ! There are guns that I really want but isn’t going to happen. I have a good array of weapons from pve and gambit that I’m more than happy with .

Edited by Mothermaker: 8/27/2019 11:36:41 PMThey're pinnacle weapons, not gimme gear.
-
Just like Anarchy and 1k are locked behind raids, Braytech Osprey is locked behind the Strange Terrain nightfall, and there are plenty of weapons locked behind Gambit and Gambit Prime. If they can't lock gear behind the activity, they might as well get rid of the activity, and they'll be damned if they ever get rid of crucible.
-
1 Reply
forcing people to play certain modes for certain guns is bull
You mean like how 1k voices is locked behind the raid? Hypocrisy at it's finest.
-
It's not wrong at all. It's good that pvp folk has something to shoot for. The same as raiders should have something good in the raids to go after. Pinacle weapons for strikes are good. I would love to see more activity based loot myself. Regardless of what the activity is. Just because you don't like an activity doesn't make it wrong for it to be rewarding.

Only because PvP is astoundingly bad. Honestly this entire game is a clear case of what not to do when making a game. That said I've never felt the need to have a certain weapon or perks. The game is so horribly dumbed down to avoid player alienation that it's never changing either. There's near nothing RPG about this game.

I got luna and recluse recently after suffering many stressful days of comp. And in all honesty I think there needs to be more punishment in comp. If you bail you loose an entire rank. If you're heroic 3 you go back to heroic 2. Also like some people said, luna, recluse and mt shouldve been pve weapons. Thet seem to do better there than in pvp. Atleast from my experience. And the game should be more forgiving to those who are in a 2v4 or 3v4 and so on. The game should recognize this and not take away points since it's an unfair match.

Its a PvP pinnacle weapon .. Enough with these ridiculous posts

Wut? You trollin

2 Replies“Forcing people to play certain modes to get certain guns is bs”? Yup I’ve heard it all now. What do you want them to just make every single item in the game obtainable from every activity? I don’t understand how you people can want something while also complaining that you have to play the game to get it. And this is coming from someone who wants 1k Voices but it too lazy to play the raid.
-
Great should be locked behind every activity in Destiny. It's a looter. Loot should be linked to everything you do.
-
1 Replypvp as much as it is broken right now is what is keeping destiny alive otherwise the game would be dead
-
7 RepliesThe only thing wrong is the entitlement of pve players who feel the entire game every single inch should cater to them. There is no pvp way to get 1k or any other pve weapon. I feel that every activity should have its own weapons that can only be earned by n that activity. Pvp included
-
3 RepliesPlay with a team dumbass

Give me 1k voices because I don't play raids.
