Voidstreak Sparrow Sucks (Not worth the grind)
A couple days ago I finally got my Voidstreak Sparrow that requires you to get all the Majestic armor for all three characters. I paced myself and finally got it, but it wasn’t worth it at all.
The Voidstreak sparrow is much worse compared to my Taken Sparrow that requires 40 eggs to find. The Taken Sparrow has instant spawn in and it’s able to do tricks much easier in the air. While the VoidStreak Sparrow has the perk called “Stealth Running” a perk that makes enemies shoot you less (and it’s also found on the Exotic Sparrow from Scourge of The Past). Though the Voidstreak has that perk it doesn’t even feel like it’s doing anything. The Voidstreak also feels much slower and clunky. Granted it’s legendary, but it should at least feel like the grind to get it was worth the time and effort. Hell it can’t even do tricks like it use to do in Destiny 1, there’s not even like cool Easter Egg with horn button or anything.
After doing that whole grind for it I was very disappointed in it, nothing is special about it and it’s completely worthless when you can use an exotic sparrow or the Taken Sparrow that is less hassle and way less effort to get compared to the Voidstreak.
I’m hoping this could at least be looked into and maybe get a little buff to the Sparrow at least to make it easier to do tricks in the air or spawn in faster. You know...make it feel like my time was worth the grind. I was so disappointed in it, but part of me would’ve regretted it if I didn’t get it, due to me trying to collect limited timed event items (like the ship from last years Solstice Of Hero’s)
I’m just hoping this could gain some traction to get Bungie to at least consider this in the near future.

1 ReplyI gotta agree with you there. see the ship actually felt like a trophy where this sparrow kinda missed the mark. What I would've done to have this sparrow be worth it would maybe have it so the element flowing through it would alter as you ride from Void to Solar to Arc and repeat, summon instantly, do tricks, have a horn, and above all be exotic tier. The ship from the first Solstice is exotic tier (have it on my warlock) so why is the sparrow not exotic either. Just like the ending of the Iron Banner Questline, completing this on all three characters felt very underwhelming (even though the armor is gorgeous)

I was expecting at least a void trail and the ability to pull off tricks like we could during SRL in D1

Its a worse version of the D1 void streak. It should have come back exotic with all of its past aesthetics and then some.

I personally don't care about tricks, however... No void trail, no instant summon and [i]Stealth Running[/i] literally doesn't do anything. I'd take 170 speed over SR. I do however like the way it looks and shaders apply nicely to it.

The 2.0 armor version on the day Shadowkeep drops was the point of the grind. Hell I didn’t even know I was gonna get the sparrow when I finished all mine.

5 RepliesYou act as though the sparrow was the only reason you completed the gear? I completed the gear, for 3 full armor 2.0 sets on Shadowkeep launch day. The sparrow, like all sparrows, was just something a little extra. Besides, the mini is my favorite sparrow now.

Could have done more with it, like make it the only 170 Sparrow in the game and given it an appearance that doesn't look copy-pasted from other models, at minimum. How many meetings do you think took place discussing it? Seems like an afterthought to me. "Oh! Before we release details on the Solstice stuff, should we have a reward for people that slave through the grind on all 3 characters?" "Hmm, yeah just pull an unused Sparrow from the old file."

1 ReplyI lost interest as soon as I saw that the boost is default orange. I love showing off the Exotic ship from Solstice last year because it's a really nice looking ship and one that you simply can't get anymore. Voidstreak is just a letdown though, there are so many better- looking Sparrows with nicer boosts. The Crimson Days Eververse Sparrow is a great comparison, they have the same body so take Shaders similarly, but the boost on it is bright pink and makes petals fly about, much better than generic orange.
