cheaters in competitive playlist are getting out of control.
There are lvl 21-35 hunters with blue and green items, literally oneshooting everybody with a handgun over a distance you usually would need a sniper with max range+zoom, carrying the whole team while having 50-75% of overall kills, surviving two shotgun shots and a fully loaded warlock punch right in their faces without even completely loosing the shield. You cant tell me its skill or luck.
Some players take no damage at all, seriously. Yesterday there was a dude running around and taking absolutely no damage, we tried to kill him 4vs1 for like 30 seconds, while his team was sneaking around.
Other people seem to have heavy ammo right from the start.
Are there some stupid exploits you can't fix?
fixing bugs > new premium content.
Also, your suspension system is messed up. When my team mates leave cuz they don't want to play against cheaters, why am I still forced to stay in this match? If I leave after them, I still get the "friendly reminder" not to leave matches. Thats wrong.
Take care of cheaters, balance autoaim weapons and fix your matchmaking system (e.g. putting full premade clan teams against complete random groups), then people would not leave matches anymore.

Is this a PC issue? Am on ps4 and have never experienced any cheating. Is it a glory rank issue (I hang around the 2000 to 3000 range)? Or is this just people not willing to accept someone is better than them?

6 RepliesLiterally hundreds of comp matches, and the most cheating I've seen would be 2 teams ddossing. Either you have the worst luck, have confirmation bias, or are lying.

22 Repliesno one cheats in this game stop using it as a scapegoat for losing, if anything it is lag which is a different problem

10 RepliesBungie has gone on record stating that, despite raking in well over $1b in revenue with Destiny 1, that dedicated servers are "too expensive". This is while every other AAA release in the 21st century that features OP rewards locked behind a ranked multiplayer pvp playlist using dedicated servers to stop cheating and ensure fairness for everyone. So, to answer your question, will Bungie ever do anything about cheaters in comp? No. They might swing a banhammer once or twice a year, but more cheaters will just take their place so long as Bungie avoids admitting they're being cheap pennypinchers and sticks with p2p.

if you want to take care of cheaters how about you block not just the name, but the console too. If mommy had to buy another console the shit would stop.

This happened to me the other day and no its not my connection. I recorded a short vid for myself to review a match. It clearly showed a person LS and teleported alot to avoid shots or melee and the rest of the players that move around in that same match were normal. That one person didn't take damage either. All the other players I can kill were normal. That one player had super high score on the scoreboard at end of match. It was definitely a tell-tell sign of a cheater.

I cant even tell if its cheating or a glitch anymore. Yesterday i had the same shotgun problem. Got the guy twice with my shotgun and then a warlock melee and he still had his shields. Then later had no problem killing him. I could reduce it down to lag but BOTH my shots registered they just did almost no damage from point blank range

Totally agreed. Unfortunately, without dedicated servers, this game will always be vulnerable to lagswitching, drophacking, and DDoSing. So if you want a Crucible experience with less cheating, you'll probably have to go with the Google Stadia version until Microsoft and Sony push Bungie to also put D2 on Microsoft Azure cloud servers.
"The privacy flaw A fundamental flaw of any peer-to-peer network model is that it reveals your IP address to every player you meet in PvE or PvP. When we have a look at the connections Destiny 2 established in one of my 4v4 Crucible matches, we can see three Bungie servers located in the USA, one Limelight Server located in the UK, one Blizzard Server located in the UK and the other seven players located in France, Germany and Turkey. Peer-to-peer IPs By revealing the IP address of these players, the game makes it very easy to find out the country and city/town where they live. So, I can then block or throttle the traffic between my client and theirs, or I could launch a DDOS attack to affect their online experience—something streamers have to deal with on a regular basis, and has resulted in persistent problems with the relatively high stakes PvP mode Trials of the Nine. Bungie issued a swathe of two-week bans to DDOSers recently, but the attacks keep coming. Security and hacking "Never trust the client" is a saying you'll hear often from developers who work on multiplayer games. When you let the client take care of sensitive tasks like hit registration, then this makes it a lot harder to protect your game from hacks. Bungie faces this problem with the peer-to-peer network model in Destiny 2. To shield the game from hacks on PC, Bungie is preventing applications from injecting code into the game. The downside of this measure is that this also blocks any and all applications that provide an in-game overlay like MSI Afterburner, RTSS or Discord. It also blocks apps used for streaming or gameplay recording like DxTory, and OBS when you try to use the game capture mode. Despite these efforts, which harm legitimate players, hacks still exist for Destiny 2."
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-strange-science-of-destiny-2s-uniquely-complicated-netcode/

1 ReplyEdited by Fort: 8/20/2019 4:27:19 PMThis is a latency problem or your end or their end. Destiny 2’s anti cheat is invasive as fuсk, cheating beyond DDOS is impossible. Get better internet.

3 RepliesAs far as i know there are no hacks for Destiny 2 that are working... 99% of the "hacks for Destiny 2" are scams

Bungie encourages it. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/253258717?sort=0&page=0 because Bungie does nothing about it.

1 ReplyThis is so embellished... Where do I start? Get a clue man.. words and stories are cool and all but you need proof. Make videos and do what aztecross did on that one player. He caught a dude hacking by somehow making his weapon spawn beneath him and shoot in tandem in trials.

3 RepliesNobody in cheating on PC just stop this I’ve played literally hundreds of comp matches and have never seen a single cheater
