It’s not okay that crucible was neglected for a year because it was going free-to-play

Edit: people don’t seem to understand that these are Luke Smith’s words, not mine. I’m not wildly speculating here... he flat out says that they neglected pvp on purpose because it’s going free to play. If you hate pvp then just think about everything in pve that’s been neglected. Think critically about the bigger picture and Bungie’s attitude. Don’t just read “pvp” and crap your pants. We now know why crucible was left to die... Bungie purposely neglected it because it wasn’t going to be part of the Shadowkeep package that they could sell to people. It’s free to play in October. This sucks. I know that this is a business decision and money is important, blah blah blah, BUT - this was a giant “F U” to the players who bought your game. Pvp wasn’t free for us and we deserve better. This, coupled with the Eververse power creep (which needs a nerf far more than our guardians), really shows me what your priorities are, and it sucks.

  • I think you may have misinterpreted what he meant, by they knew it was going to be available with new light, so they didn't invest more time in it. I don't think it was done based on greed, but rather the long history of complaints by this community, when people don't think they are getting enough bang for their buck, with new paid for expansions. You know, that had they focused time away from activities that people were going to spend money on in Shadowkeep, to bolster pvp, that is going to be free to everyone post Shadowkeep, that those in this community that hate pvp, would automatically complain about that time and energy spent. And blame that time spent on pvp, as why there isn't more pve activities in Shadowkeep. And to be fair, many people will still complain, regardless. Many gamers today, want 100s of hours of content for little to no cost to them. I think his statement also, kind of glossed over the fact that so much time and resources were used to create Gambit and Gambit Prime. Which were not as universally loved, as they had imagined those activities would be.
