Mountain top and recluse combo not that good?
How can so many people be praising this mountain top recluse combo as the end all PVE loadout when a combo of Bad juju and a fusion (Loaded question or Proelium is best) is essentially better in 95% of all situations. Just wondering peoples thoughts as to their popularity.

There are plenty of weapons and weapon combo's that can be effective in PvE. Now to make the statement that "MT + R is not that good" because there are other effective combos is just illogical. Open to discussion if you want to talk about it.

The only way you can say such blasphemy is if you don’t have mt. Top and recluse. Surely you’ve been killed by them in the crucible or seen someone use them in pve? Mt. Top destroys bosses better than a lot of heavy weapons and it’s a kinetic weapon that uses special ammo. While you’re running around desperately looking under couches for heavy ammo I’ll be standing on top of the mountain dealing 80% of the damage to the primeval. Recluse doesn’t melt adds, it eviscerates them. It’s like throwing lightly salted crackers into a wood chipper, they don’t stand a chance. It’s also great at dealing with majors if you proc master of arms.

Honestly it’s a wonderful combo, I’ve had them long enough to where I have enough weapons in both slots to freely swap around and not feel like I’m missing much. It’s the combo for when you want things done and over with fast, doesn’t mean it’s the most “fun” but it’s by a mile the most efficient.

Recluse is an SMG with infinite Kill Clip/Feeding Frenzy and Mountaintop has AOE damage, a straight line shot, and more DPS than most heavy weapons. Plus you can pair it with an exotic heavy like Tractor Cannon or Thunderlord or DARCI

As a mostly pve player I dont have either, but they seem like a really solid combo since both weapons are top tier. I could see there being some situational/range challenges using that build though. I'm guessing the key is leading opponents into the right situation so your weapons are at their optimal range. With both SMG's and grenade launchers I like corner peeking at people and getting a few shots in, then try and get them to rush you. As they do, try crouching (or jumping in the right scenario) and backing up to somewhere they wont expect at a range you choose, then unload on them once they come around the corner. Rushing with an smg in this scenario has worked well for me in the past, and I am by no means a great pvp player. Again, feel free to take all this with a grain of salt since I dont play PvP that much, but if it works for my scrubby self, then it just might work even better for you!

Depends on range. If you can bring Recluse/MT to bear, they are devastatingly effective, and MT offers amazing boss DPS. I prefer Outbreak to Juju tbh, but those 2 + Loaded Question work better when you have to fight from range. They dont offer quite the same boss DPS but its still a very very respectable loadout.

Just wondering peoples thoughts as to their popularity.[/quote] DPS an PC is why. MT puts out Hvy Weapon Damage Numbers and Recluse can easily melt through adds. Just put a Boss Speck Mod on MT and a Major Speck on the Recluse and boom. Easymode. Recluse has little to no recoil on PC.

Recluse is much better than bad juju and loaded question for clearing adds and mountaintop with an auto reloading ability has better dps than most HEAVY weapons.

Mountaintop is a better damage dealer than loaded question or that other fusion that I haven’t heard of. Recluse is much better at clearing adds than bad juju. And you can have an exotic heavy as well. Also, please tell me you have Recluse and/or mountaintop. Please!
