All you idiots out here thinking crunch is an acceptable practice are the problem. Either you've:
1. Never really worked a job with crunch and 10 - 14+ hour days.
2. Thrown work/life balance out the window for the sake of the great capitalism machine.
Having been on both sides of crunch jobs physical and desk jockey type, the feeling is the same. You're mentally or physically exhausted (or both), you have no time to recharge, and you have no time to spend with your family or friends to maintain a relationship with people who matter more than a damn job.
It's extremely unlikely a 40-hour week is what was hard on these folks.
Try 70, maybe 90+ hours in a week. One day off, if any.
I don't care that maybe you work more, or "harder"; that's part of the problem. Overworking, putting your face to the grinder and then asking for more with a smile is exactly why employers take advantage of you. Not every one is like you, some people don't live alone and have nothing but work to fulfill them. Folks got families, people to invest in.
Someone implying that they want to give time back to their employees after a rough season is a GOOD THING. You idjits crapping all over that concept like they are supposed to be cogs in a meat grinder are the problem here.
Sorry to bust your bubble, dude but they had TWO other studios helping them out. There is 0 excuse
