Here's why.
I know when we heard that solstice armor was going to be the first armor 2.0 set we were really excited. Obviously with the reveal of the stream we now realize that 2.0 armor is going to be pretty common so it's not that large of an advantage. Which is fine, there's no reason solstice players should get that.
According to Bungie, we should be able to claim a full 2.0 set from the gunsmith when Shadowkeep starts.
That's it. No reclaiming. Just one package. (if I'm wrong please correct me)
Some people might be asking "well what's the big deal?".
The thing is is that with Bungie's element system depending on what element you get on the armor you might not use it at all. I'm not saying it needs to be top tier armor, but we should at least be able to put the perks on it that we want.
Bungie needs to add a way to grind out more pieces of 2.0 armor in Shadowkeep.
Go ahead and start opening those packages ya'll cause I highly doubt they will.
TLDR -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bungie's element system will dictate which mods you can put on your 2.0 solstice armor therefore possibly making it useless to some players as there is no way of getting more re-rolled pieces.

1 ReplyIt to counter that there is general mods that have no element affiliation so our solstice gear won’t be completely useless

1 ReplyEdited by Corrick II: 8/18/2019 2:14:37 PMIs it random or does the element mod our armor has now decide it? Because my armor dropped with arc and all the packages have been dropping arc, and I’m totally cool with that. Pulse rifles and shotgun all day long. Although if we’re being honest, the element affinity is one of the most random, arbitrary decisions Bungie has made yet to force grinding in the game. It made me roll my eyes pretty hard when I learned about it.

Basically there is no point to grind for Solstice armor. I did it for one char, for my others I’m going to waltz over to Shaxx and turn in my 2000 or so crucible tokens to get armor pieces from him. It is kind of trolling that they make getting armor 2.0 seem exclusive from grinding solstice before they told us that armor 2.0 would be the new default from all sources

3 RepliesEdited by Atreuss: 8/17/2019 9:45:38 AMNot sure what you are saying. You want a full set of all three elements or be able to put any mod on the set you get from banshee? Either way it will never happen. That's too easy. There would be no point in grinding armor elements for specific builds if people just wore solstice armor. Most likely the set you pick up will be the same element we have now on each class. And really solstice armor isn't really meant to be a permanent set. It's more a starter set into 2.0 unless you have the right stats for a particular build on that set it might be useful.
