After watching the Armor 2.0 stream and seeing a Bungie figure dressed like they just woke up was unappealing to say the least. One of the only good things about Activi$ion was that they always had a professional and refined appearance. While it’s okay to be casual in a work place such as a game development company it is most definitely not appropriate to appear that way to the consumer. I’m not friends with the dev team and I’m not watching a Sunday night game with them either. I’m a consumer. Part of being a consumer is having a safe knowledge that the creator of my consumption cares about the product. So tell me how could the team care about the product if they don’t care to wear shoes? Please have a common decency dress code next time.
Edit- no this is not about gender. No I don’t want to see formal wear. My intended point was I would’ve liked to see something above minimal effort. While I respect the work that the dev team does that appreciation does not transfer over to being happy with seeing pure disregard for respecting each other’s time. I understand that tech culture is dominated by people who don’t care about the newest fashion trend but professional presentation is still important. Had everybody on the stream been dressed casually I would’ve seen no problem. In the past the dev members have been dressed casual and that’s fine. Something above nothing is all those of us with a problem are requesting.
On a side note the sexism and the idea of “being a snowflake” both have no place here. This isn’t meant to be a hate mob. This is just feedback so Bungie knows that the consumers expect to see a level of professionalism above none.
Edit 2- yes. There are more pressing matters with the actual game. However the problems with the game do not override the problems with presentation. There is room for both discussions to occurs. Hopefully somebody has relayed that below causal wear is not the appropriate wear for a live appearance.

And she’s probably more successful than you 😉

Get over it, it's a pair of pajama pants, who cares?!?!
-
1 ReplyEh, I didn't even remotely care. She could have dressed as a fuzzy bunny if she wanted to. I watched for the armor.

Edited by LostPursuer: 8/16/2019 3:05:34 AMIs this really an issue? I keep seeing that she played horribly as well so that reflects to the game somehow, it's a well understanding that most devs are actually bad at games and we aren't including that fact that they might not actually play with controllers to begin with. Just saying, this is some snowflake crap. Edit to the OP edit: You seem to be misunderstanding something, see I dont see as the boss of bungie, and clearly its known that the way she dressed was approved cause this stream isn't for investors or to a board of some kind. It's to the community, if its seriously an issue that she isn't up to your standards. Its actually quite normal for community streams to have the one dev dress in casual clothes it's not like she's the first and wont be the last. Feedback? Again really? What's next. No tattoos or piercings to be showing. Or no dressing up for holidays? Like that's the level you guys are going to. Chill out Karens (You guys are the 1%), just not of anything good.

Destiny 2: shoes required

Edited by Mythic, Harbinger of Light: 8/15/2019 7:24:53 PMThe fact we got any information from them at all was amazing. There’s no reason to talk shit about their dress code. If they care even half as much about the game as they do the way they dress, then I think we can hope the bosses in Shadowkeep will be less obnoxious when putting their foot DOWN! (stomping)
-
They put as much effort into their appearance as they do on D2. Just like new content, getting dressed is hard.
-
13 RepliesI bet most guys would be whistling and cat calling if she was a petite blonde with cleavage showing.
-
Why do you care so much? They're just kicking back and having a good time. Or are you just joking?
-
Dude Cmon Really?)) Omg Don’t listen to him dear devs. Or if you want to count his opinion then count my as well - please all be naked in a next stream.
-
Let the Devs Dress as they please , they deserve all the comfort and then some. NO problem with me
-
It's a video game developer not a restaurant or food service.. I don't see the issue, besides Luke Smith is always in a hoodie and can't seem to find a razor.. As long as the content is about the game and not about other agendas then it's fine.
-
I couldnt give a flying -blam!-. I was there to get info about the new armour system, not to get triggered over what someones wearing. "Oh no, socks!!!" Listen to yourselves. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
-
I know, I kept thinking get your feet off the table. They even told her off screen to put her feet down. Makes it look like they just nap all day long. Lol
-
Same lol. What the hell is wrong with her to be that lol?

1 ReplyYeah, dressing casual is part of the job, but that was taking it a bit too far. Especially when you addressing your fan base like that. It was just sloppy.
-
Yea it was really disgusting.
-
Agreed. Deej taking a swipe at that individual about it was easily the best part of the stream
-
1 ReplyWhere is this stream?
-
2 RepliesI somewhat agree with this. The Asian dude was trying hella hard to flex his Travis Scott Jordan’s
-
It's a game dev stream, do you think these people are coming to work in suits and ties? Game development isn't exactly the most professional environment.
-
Well considering we all know Bungie has maybe 1 developer total that actively plays their own game I am confused as to how your top concern is how they dress. Shouldn't their first move be to learn the problems in their own game? I could personally care less if the woman was literally wearing pajamas on the stream. I probably would too if I worked on a pc in a dark room all day. But what's inexcusable is how incompetent they seem to be with their design decisions regarding "fixes" in this game.
-
Activision is more of a publisher company, that’s why they go more formal same with EA. Bungie is not even though they’re self publishing now it doesn’t make them a whole publisher company. They dress code themselves whatever they want
-
Agreed, but after reading about how most of the others agree in relation the the woman, I’d like to point out that the blue jeans worn by the man to her right had holes bigger than the Stormy Daniels money maker. Nobody really cares how you dress at work, but you’re going on camera. Show some self respect. Dress smart, look smart.
-
Bungie didn't care so why should you or anyone else for that matter? Move on to something more productive to complain about please.
