I’m getting real tired of people scapegoating streamers for things they really didn’t have much or anything to do with.
Take the likely incoming well nerf for example. People love to say “datto -blam!-ed us, it’s all his fault”
Little do they realize that the bridge section of T2 and 3 reckoning was built to be so insane because Bungie knew that if they didn’t, Well would make reckoning as easy as making scrambled eggs. Bungie was designing encounters around the power of Well months and months before any steamer made any type of video about how centralizing it is in PvE. Luke using his video as a reference was probably because it was in line and well illustrated what Bungie had been thinking for quite a while. We all know Bungie takes months an months to make any adjustments to even shit a busted as LoW was on pc. That idea that Bungie decided to change a super integral to PvE because of a 13 minute video released like 2 weeks ago is laughable.

While this individual case might be overblown, we are talking about a company that invited streamers to a community summit and listened to them and turned Escalation Protocol from a challenging three man activity to one that required you to game the instance to get a six to nine man group to accomplish it. We're talking about a company that installed incredibly boring grinds into the game because streamers said the game wasn't grindy enough. We're talking about a company that time and time again has decided that streamers are not only worth listening to but their experiences are representative of everyone in the player base. So yeah, at some point it was -blam!-ing inevitable that we'd get a straw that broke the camel's back moment, and it's happened with Datto.
