They are called “likes” because social media uses psychological programming to gather the information they want. Pay attention here: LIKES ON A YOUTUBE VIDEO ARE MEANINGLESS.
There isn’t any link between content creators and elected representatives in government. There isn’t an in-game vote where players select a representative to speak to Bungie on their behalf.
Instead we have a system where players can post their opinion on the game individually on the forum.
Bungie uses content creators to market the game because the content generated by videos and streams markets their game for free.
Luke used Datto’s video to get buy in on his premise from Datto fans. It has the opposite effect as well.
They are ALSO called likes for when people LIKE something. This is not rocket science.
The vote is subscribing, viewing, and liking the videos.
We both know that Well is not getting nerfed soley because of Datto, right?
No they are specifically called “likes” because people will click the button because it makes them feel like they are a part of the video by saying they “liked” it. It’s basic social media psychology. Maybe you think human minds and rockets are the same thing, but they aren’t. It is a completely different science based on the human mind.
That’s not a vote. A vote would be an in-game vote for players to speak to Bungie on their behalf. That would be a vote.
I know it’s getting nerfed because of a mistake of the designers. I know it’s their fault. The nerf isn’t the subject of the discussion.
