I literally have had my account for a week. I had just started playing Destiny 2 and today when I tried to log in it says that I have been banned. No reason, no explanation, just a ban message routing me to the ban page on bungies website. My issue is that in the 4 days I have actually gotten to play the game the only thing I did was run Discord and Player.me to stream footage(TRIED to use Obs but it was clipping off some of my screen because of the monitor I was using). So my question is why was I banned for trying to communicate with my dedicated Fireteam?
I know there is an ingame voice chat but every time I tried to use it all my audio would turn off after about 3-5 minutes of playing. This meant that not only could I not talk with my friend I was playing with, I couldn't even hear the game itself. I tried with and without headphones too, I tried my Blue Yeti mic (cut out), my ps4 headphones(still cut out) and my Beats Pro (these wouldn't even work). So yes, I am angry that after buying the game I got banned for just trying to play the game. Also I don't even know where to find information on whether the ban is temporary or permanent. All it says is my account is banned and doesn't even give me info on it. So can someone from Bungie please explain this?
After speaking with some knowledgeable players who know how Bungies Ban process works and reviewing all of the ToS as well as looking into the history of what players are being banned for (I see all kinds of posts about how Bungie is banning people who are also using Streaming Software) I have decided that if a Bungie rep does not explain the exact reason I was banned, as well as show the details for it and show that they had a real reason to ban me I will be starting a lawsuit. You cannot ban a player for playing your game they purchased when they did not cheat in it.

16 RepliesYour account was banned on Aug. 12th when a program created by a well-known cheat/hack community, specifically for the purpose of cheating in Destiny 2 on PC, was detected while playing the game. The data leading to your ban has been reviewed, and the punishment has been upheld. You may find details on behavior that can lead to account restrictions and bans here: https://bungie.net/bans

7 RepliesGood luck with a class action, since you agreed to the License agreement. Bungie does not ban for streaming software.
You cannot ban a player for playing your game they purchased when they did not cheat in it.
yes, they can. Read the terms you agreed to https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Legal/SLA

Good luck with your lawsuit.

1 ReplyBNGSecurity has once again attempted to save face by lying and saying a player cheated to "uphold" a ban. They haven't proven that I did anything wrong they just don't want to admit that they themselves have done anything wrong.

9 Replies@BNGSecurity get in here and explain yourselves

Please do keep us up to date on where this lawsuit goes! I suspect it won't be far, but hey, you never know. At the very least this will probably get BNGSecurity in here with the "You were caught cheating, ban upheld" mssage.

You cannot ban a player for playing your game they purchased when they did not cheat in it.

There are 3 types of punishments for Destiny/Bungie. Bans, Restrictions and Suspensions. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE. BANS are permanent and apply to the whole game. The message usually says: "NOT SO FAST! This account has been banned." And looks like this http://imgur.com/gallery/Tw7g7Jg RESTRICTIONS are temporary. The message usually says: "RESTRICTED! This account is temporarily restricted from _______." And looks like this http://imgur.com/gallery/st40PuU If it is your 1st RESTRICTION it's USUALLY 2 weeks. If it is your 2nd RESTRICTION it's USUALLY 2 months. RESTRICTIONS can stack on each other, usually due to the severity and frequency of multiple reports overtime. So 2 weeks AND 2 months, so to most players there won't be a 2nd splash screen and the RESTRICTION ends later than expected. RESTRICTIONS USUALLY end during the reset of that week and not the day of. If you have had 2 prior RESTRICTIONS a 3rd penalty can either be a much longer RESTRICTION or a lifetime RESTRICTION from Crucible and Gambit or a full on lifetime BAN from the entire game. Sometimes you will be given a splash screen that looks like this http://imgur.com/gallery/GpYKBGG warning you of an issue so you can fix it before a restriction is placed. In-Game Gambit/Competitive Crucible SUSPENSIONS are only 30-60mins and placed AUTOMATICALLY if you leave too many games in a short time span for ANY reason. Whether it be a ddos, error code or power outage. The message usually says: "TIME OUT! You left a ______ match before it was complete…." And looks like this for Competitive and Gambit http://imgur.com/gallery/stqxYIj They WILL NOT respond or message you. They WILL NOT tell why a punishment was issued. EDIT: [Recently (as of June 28/2019) SOMETIMES BNGSecurity will give a general reason why the punishment was placed. They look like this http://imgur.com/gallery/eSY1iGc] They don't have to. They don't care. Loyalty. Time played. Content purchased. Gear earned. When you started. Intent. Threats. Begging. It is all irrelevant. They make the rules. We have to follow them. Break them and they penalize you. There is NO course of action to appeal any punishment issued. They WILL NOT lessen or remove any punishment issued for any reason. They've had this no tolerance policy since Day 1 of D1. It won't change anytime soon. The reasons most ppl have a punishment issued to them is: For some form of cheating (ddossing). Playing with cheaters (paying for a carry, sharing account info, or staying in a lobby with a cheater for too long and benefiting from their illegal actions). Or having consistently terrible internet connection that it affects OTHERS players and not just yourself. You may be playing fine. But to others you may appear as an unkillable red-bar. For most PC tagalongs: They are banned because SOMETHING installed on your PC was viewed as a POTENTIAL threat to D2 and those are PROMPTLY BANNED. The process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The Bungie monkey at HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not.
Typically, PC bans are caused by having programs running in the background such as trainers, aimbots, debuggers, cheating software, etc., even if they have nothing to do with Destiny specifically. Bungie might respond and give you a general reason as to why you were banned, but they don't have to and there is no appeals process.

12 RepliesEdited by ThisIsMyBung1eAccount: 8/14/2019 8:02:06 PMBans are manually placed on accounts following account investigation that turns up behaviour that justifies the action being taken. These investigations can be started by multiple reports of cheating or otherwise disallowed behaviour over a long time period. Alternatively, bans may be placed after the Destiny 2 app on PC detects potential cheat software and flags it, sending data to Bungie - again requiring manual confirmation for a ban to be placed. In all seriousness, and with respect, Bungie has found reasonable evidence that you have broken the Destiny code of conduct in some way and been appropriately punished for it. There is no way to appeal a ban or have it overturned. Bungie does not discuss or revoke restrictions or bans. FYI, any lawsuit you start will get you nothing but wasted time. You agreed to a EULA that states explicitly that Bungie can terminate the use agreement “for any or no reason”. That alone would stop you and your case. On top of that, Bungie manually reviews and places bans after account investigation or the game detecting and flagging, with details, potential or known cheating software. You agreed to follow the Terms Of Service, you got caught doing something that was deemed to be in violation of the terms of service, and you agreed that your permission to use the game could be taken away from you for any reason or no reason, if and when Bungie so pleased. Basically, if you start a lawsuit, it’ll be nothing but time and wasted legal fees. There’s a fitting statement here, though it may not be something you’ll like to hear; Know when you’re beat.

2 RepliesTypically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, auto-fire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, even if not destiny 2 specific Restrictions are temporary, and will not be overturned or undone before they expire. Once an account is banned however, that ban is permanent. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason. There are NO options to dispute or overturn account restrictions or bans. Bans are lifetime for that account https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47715 *I am not a Bungie representative, just a player trying to give the answers that are available.
