First of all, Bungie (and others) have reported on and addressed the fact that Activision's contract with them is the reason Destiny 2 had to be a "start-over" experience, go look for the interviews and reports. They're all over YouTube and Google.
Well, as far as the contract, they were required to push out a full title. Again, this doesnt mean this meant that D2 should have discarded of the good work in D1. If it had to be a completely different game or complete overhaul then why some of the elements were kept?
Secondly, just as a bit of free life advice: don't ever be so ridiculously arrogant and stupid that you presume to tell someone what they do and don't have evidence of. Real quick way to make yourself look like a jackarse. As you do.
I am neither arrogant or stupid as you presume to be. All I did was to point out that you did not show an evidence but your word. If you presented the evidence and said here it is, I'd gladly accept that I was wrong. And I'd consider the new information you provided into my perception of the game and Bungie. However, you chose to insult me rather than having a mature conversation.
You were originally complaining that they DIDN'T keep what was in D1. Now that they're bringing back what they didn't keep, you're complaining that they're bringing back the things you liked?? What even do you WANT at this point?
Honestly, I love it when this logic is used :). it is extremely shortsighted and I still cannot warp my head around how anyone could end up at this conclusion. Taking away a feature, then giving it back and calling it a new feature, a new content or expect players to get excited about it is outright outrageous. Because, ultimately removing those features, then putting them back in into a game environment that was not designed for it creates issues. A prime example is, 6v6 quickplay in small maps that are mostly designed for 4v4 encounters with slower movements (before then go fast update). Then these changes that had to be brought back requires balancing and fixing of other things that they affect (another prime example certain weapon archetypes cannot balanced without a overhaul to the pvp such as scout rifle). However, all these takes up Bungie's time and resources while they were supposed to focus on other things then everything falls behind schedule. Naturally, this leads Bungie abandoning certain things as they cannot spare resources and time anymore. This is simple BAD management, nothing else. Finally, I just like to point out a fact that you seem to forget that Bungie is corporate company that makes their own decisions. Sure they are bound by contracts just like anyone else working. However, Did Bungie not now who and what Activision was before they signed the contract? Did they not know they wouldnt be able to meet deadlines and had no contingency plan if things did go south? Did anyone from Activision, or you or me had to put a gun onto Bungie's head and made them sign the contract? You simply cannot blame anyone else but Bungie for getting into a bed with Activision and all that happens between them. I hope this kid was able to enlighten you! (now I am being arrogant, since you clearly cannot tell the difference (now I'm being a hole about it, just so you know))

If it had to be a completely different game or complete overhaul then why some of the elements were kept?
> The "Elements" were kept because it's STILL "Destiny." The elements kept are part of what MADE the game what it is. And yes, the contract from Activision wanted players to have to grind from 0 all over again, because it encouraged them to buy more microtransactions, rather than just being "happy with what they already had."
Honestly, I love it when this logic is used :). it is extremely shortsighted and I still cannot warp my head around how anyone could end up at this conclusion.
> Sure, lemme clear this up for you: In the beginning, they took away certain things because it was their intention and direction to move away from them and branch out into newer, different things. (Going from 6v6 Crucible to 4v4 Crucible. Going from 'pleding clan loyalty' to 'Faction Rallies'.) However, people made it known that they were unhappy with these changes, and they made it known in large, significant numbers that they wanted things to go back to the way they were, because they preferred them the way they were. So, to appease the Fanbase (because believe it or not, pleasing your fans IS how games like this succeed and become better) they made the changes people were asking for, and began to reimplement some of the older aspects of the game. (6v6 Crucible. Bringing back some favorite Crucible-Maps. Adding in events like 'The Blind Well,' which was similar to the Court of Oryx and the Archon's Forge, which were fan-favorite activities in Destiny 1.) That's not just, "Hey, this will make money." That's also: "If we don't listen to our fanbase and make them happy, we will fail." Which is not a negative thing. It's actually a GOOD thing. We're the fanbase. We WANT to be Happy. It's GOOD for us to be Happy. If we're happy, Bungie makes MORE money! If we're NOT happy, Bungie makes LESS money! BUT, here's the kicker: Some fans (your ears might be burning here) sat there complaining that Destiny 2 wasn't as good as Destiny 1, because it was missing elements from Destiny 1. But then, the darndest thing happened, Bungie brought BACK a lot of those elements from Destiny 1, and STILL some fans are complaining about those elements not being in Destiny 2 from the very beginning... Well, what do you want, Cupcake? There's only so much they can do here. Ask yourself this: Short of Bungie building a time machine, going BACK IN TIME to the launch of Destiny 2, and incorporating all of those missing elements from Day 1... What can they REALISTICALLY do about it, to make "some fans" happy? Here's your choices: 1.) They listen to your complaints, and give you what you want (better late than never??). 2.) They don't listen to your complaints, and DON'T give you what you want, and you keep complaining. Now I know that for you, option 3.) "Get what I want, but keep complaining anyways" probably seems like the best one, but at that point you're not really complaining because you want things improved. You're just complaining for the sake of complaining, because it's what you enjoy doing. So, what's it gonna be, Sunshine? How do they make it all better for you? You want them to fix what's wrong? Or you just wanna complain?

 • You literally proved my point on everything with that reply and showed that you are not here to have a discussion or feedback., but you are here to vent your heart out. You have not answered any of the questions that I asked but went straight to venting. It is clear which one of us has so much locked up inside though, I hope you get the help that you need :) Sunshine is out ;)

I assume you understand English. That's what he posted it in. It was pretty clear.
