6 RepliesSwitch to Xbox Literally never a issue unless you are copying/moving a file and not just updating

4 RepliesDownloads on PS4 work like this; 1) Your system recognizes that an app/game has a downloadable file, 2) Your system downloads that new file, 3) After downloading the new file, you system has to make a new copy of the entire app/game. So even though you only have a small download that takes minutes, your system is making a new copy of Destiny 2 that is several GBs bigger. Only way to get it to move a bit faster is to update your hard drive with an Solid State Drive (SSD), but it will always take some time for the copying to finish.

Xbox one x, took less than 2 minutes

Took my PS4 Pro with an internal SSD under 10 minutes to download, copy and install this week’s update. If you’re on a PlayStation and it took significantly longer than that then you’re probably still using the original hard drive that came with any version of the PS4/PS4 Pro. The single best thing you can do with a PlayStation is replace the internal drive with an SSD. Sony makes it easy because they allow you to download the PlayStation system OS from their support website so you can install it on a wiped or clean system from an external USB drive.

It’s the hdd, it’s too slow for big games, it finishes in like 3 mins on ssd.

17 RepliesIts only like that on PS4. Took almost an hour to do the whole update. (Always does) Cant remember Xbox One, havent played that account in months, but seems like it was never that long, and my PC version updated in about 3 seconds.

might be the slow hdd. pc also does that with some games. but never so slow

i got stuck on 4% for so long i thought i needed to restart it

I know it’s so -blam!-, like all info has been downloaded!!!!

1 ReplyMy issue is having enough space for the update to actually download. Like come on PS4, I got 85 gigs of free space and the download isn’t even a gig tops, but nooo, apparently I need more space.
