Edit: Nice to see I'm not alone on this. Appears to happen to all weapons and not just in PvP.
Just yesterday (18 August) it was happening to me in EAZ and other areas. I've checked my connection and it's fine...so lovely Bungie!
I've noticed the past month or so that hand cannons in particular don't seem to fire consistently....they will "freeze up" and not continue to fire. I literally will be in a fire fight against someone and my character is just staring at the dude firing at me, while I'm hitting fire (but nothing happens). It will do that for about 2-3 seconds and then go back to normal.
At first, I thought it was my Not Forgotten only, but then noticed it happening on my Service Revolver and my Trust. I've tried different controllers and no issues. I don't seem to notice this happening to any other weapon.
Am I alone on this? Perhaps I need a new controller? lol
I'm hard wired in...not using WiFi

This is still happening. I'm wired with 1Gig connection. Guess it'll be a fix we have to pay extra for

1 ReplyAlso happens to snipers

Lag spikes happen in the match. Unless you're using a router with Geo filtering sometimes you will get matched with people who are just not even close to Optimal for your lobby. You can have spikes which show up in ways like that. Guns freezing is one or the other one is dying and what appears to you to be one shot from a hand Cannon or something. The guy who is actually shooting May see three shots on his screen. However there is such a delay they hit you all at once. You may notice Bungie refuses to have an in match ping that people can see and they refuse to have a geofilter we can turn on

I’ve lost my shit over this, ill turn a corner and get ready to gun someone down only to have the gun just flat out not fire and I get killed, it happens a lot.

Edited by ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ: 8/11/2019 1:41:54 PMYes. Other weapon types are also “hiccuping” in the middle of gunplay.

16 RepliesMaybe this is Bungie's way of telling you to stop using crutch 180s. :/
-
I’ve havd the exact same issues for months, I thought my controller just sucked but I see it’s pretty common
-
2 RepliesHonestly I thought it was just me. I have hair triggers and thought the controller wasn't registering my shots. Good to know it's happening to everyone
-
This isn’t unique to handcannons. Have had the same thing happen while I used an auto rifle. Also have had it happen when using a pulse

A lot of times my bullets will all register at the same time about a second after I shot the last one. It’ll kill the enemy but it gives them enough time to kill me too
-
They've never been consistent... Any gun.
-
Bungie does this when you do well with a weapon. The recoil increases and it becomes inconsistent
-
This has absolutely been happening. Thought it was my controller but now see it could be the game. It was happening to me on my shotgun
-
Noticed it on lunas howl a few days ago.
-
Say hello to jitter. Noticeable when using merciless.
-
Happens with my pulse rifles after I reload. Get a kill with Outbreak, reload, push the trigger button and nothing. Have to hit a few times to get it to fire. Same with my Bad Juju and my Last Perdition too.

Interesting you mention that, i had this during 2 if my last games, very irritating...
-
Sounds more like a lag problem. It could you already died but your console hasn't caught up yet. It poor weather I'll have it happen.
-
i think they did it to 180 hand cannons, but that wouldn’t make any sense. considering you mentioned not forgotten, which is now 150 RPM. so, i’m going to assume they sort of broke hand cannons by accident?
-
It happens to me a loooot.

6 RepliesThey added a surprise mechanic for hand cannons to jam randomly whilst shooting.

1 ReplyWhen I get enough money I’m going pc, I advise you do the same, I played d2 on my gf brothers pc and was like, wtf 😱, Nd now I’m saving for a pc 😂

That is the result of lag. And that is the result of a poor population. While your connection to the internet might be great the hosts connection may not be. The host is just who is geographically closer to the sever carrying everyone else’s data packets to the server. It is a major drawback to P2P. It can all say be something as simple as dropping frames. And while it is of course an annoyance it’s not the games biggest problem. If they could solve the population issue the problem would literally correct itself by default

This has been happening since release. I'm just glad to see others suffering too... Lol I'm pretty sure it's packet loss that's happening more often because their servers suck and aren't able to handle the increase of players currently grinding for their armor. Gg Bungie!
