Calus in the Menagerie stated earlier in my menagerie run that we are fighting engineers farmers and we have yet to fight any vex warriors..he gives a demeaning laughter afterwards.

1 ReplyLet's take a good look at all the damage we have dealt on the Hive, Cabal and Fallen first ( i exclude the Taken as they have an endless amount of champions to kill and the Scorn were a 'house faction' of Zombie Fallen that we had shattered mostly during Forsaken). For the Fallen, we had laid waste to their major houses (Kings, Devils, Winter, Wolves and even the Devil Splicers) as well as loner Fallen gangs and key warriors around the system, leaving us with Variks' new house, Mithrax's Pro-Guardian house and Eramis' empire on Europa that we're gonna hopefully crush into ether dust soon. Our war with the Cabal on Mars during D1, whether we wanted it or not, led to us destroying much of their varying regiments and groups along with their commanders & champions, as well as how the Skyburners suicide mission during The Taken King signalled the arrival of the Red Legion (which we messed up big time), along with Calus & his armies who now see us as 'semi-allies' for now. The Hive had just as many losses as the Fallen, if not even more in the fact that we killed Crota (who is basically the Prince of the Hive), murked Oryx 2 times over in TTK, killed dozens upon dozens of various elite hive warriors, champions and took care of individuals trying to seemingly re-establish a core leadership in the Hive too (Hashladun, Nokris, Xol, Omnigul) We still have to fight Xivu Arath as well as The Krill Hag Savathûn herself but morale on the Hive must be at an all time low with their King, Prince, 1 of the Worm Gods and varying hive heroes dead & gone. Now, with the Vex, we have also destroyed many of their minds & champions that were more or less vital to their 'master plan of existential dominance' but the difference with them is, we haven't evoked a true, antagonistic response from em for sum reason. We face Eramis and her Fallen empire on Europa, dread what Calus may have planned for us on truth and Oryx's 2 sister's cunning & might await us in the future, but we've yet to know who we are truly facing when it comes to the Vex, as in, who leads them ultimately, despite murdering many of their minds? Therefore, all the minds we've killed and presumed to be vital to the Vex so far have actually been not so important as we once thought them to be and the day we finally kill a mind/elite individual that is actually pivotal to the Vex at all costs is the day they invade Earth with their mightiest combat frames just like they did with Oryx's Ascendant Plane. When that happens, I hope I have my Gally and/or Icebreaker in hand for that cluster-blam!- of shit we're about to get into.

Hopefully we’ll see warrior units in the upcoming Vex season.
-
10 RepliesYes. Every Vex we've ever seen so far is a unit designed for either construction, data storage, or data analysis. None of these were combat frames. A believe all their weapons are also improvised from construction equipment.
-
3 RepliesWhat do folks think "combat" means to the Vex? Firepower? Blunt force? Both? Neither? My feeling is a combat frame would have to be pretty special, like a Raid Boss, but wondering what others think.
-
Pretty much. If I remember correctly Vex combat units were let into our world by Crota's butter knife blunder. They gave Oryx's Hive a run for their sword logic. I really hope we finally get to see these combat units in the next Raid.
-
Just think of all the Vex boss baddies we’ve killed and how hard those were, and then think about how those aren’t even the ones DESIGNED to kill other lifeforms. That is straight up terrifying.
-
Yep. And that’s why Vex are so cool.
-
3 RepliesJudging by vex sheer volume of regular units and lack of any real important minds (yet. We still have Quiria hopefully soon) my bet is that they don't really see us, Guardians as a real potential threat to their master plan. We may be only considered as mere anoyances, but I doubt they think we are dangerous enough to send in combat frames. I'm exited to see what might happen when they eventually do.
-
3 RepliesYup, his Minotaur is the closest thing we've seen to a combat frame and even then it's still just a Minotaur The Vex don't see us as a threat, just a road block, and how do you deal with a road block? Pave over it.
-
Correct. It’s essentially just research teams. Even big bosses like Atheon or Argos aren’t really anymore than scientists.
-
This may change with the new “Vex invasions”, as no one with more than a few neurons firing invades with builders and architects.
-
3 RepliesI wonder if Minotaurs are designed for war. They seem fairly effective at it. And I can’t see cyclops being useful for anything beyond being a turret.
-
1 ReplyVex combat units would be like those alien things in the edge of tomorrow movie. Super fast and agile and would require 5 full rounds to take just one of them down.

Would a Vex combat form be a gundam?
-
4 RepliesYeah. The current vex are construction workers and farmers. Each one has a construction purpose. For example, Minotaurs are made for transporting heavy loads, hydras are meant to supervise everything, and the can’t remember the rest. But the day they send real fighters will be horrible for us
-
Yep. Not bad for a bunch of construction and communication workers too. Wait till you see what The Vex actually consider a weapon.
-
5 Replies<Yeah, it's the truth. None of the Vex we've been fighting were built for combat. In the Books of Sorrow, Oryx recalls an event where his idiot son Crota opened a portal. The Vex came through the portal and into Oryx's Throne World. However, they had no power. So, in order to figure out how the Ascendant Plane worked, the Vex devised a Mind named Quria. Quria deduced the Sword Logic the Hive ran by and sent in Warrior Vex to uphold it. These Warrior Vex annihilated lesser Hive to become strong and started being able to easily match Ascendant Hive like Crota. The Hive and Vex were at a stalemate until Oryx came, Took a few, and kicked the rest out of his realm.>

Most high ranking Vex we've run into have either been engineers/builders (Atheon, Protheon, Panoptes) or researchers/central planetary computers (Sekrion, Argos, the Templar, Dendron). The various gate lords we encounter can fall into either category, but are generally less important than the Vex mentioned above. We do not know what a true Vex warrior looks like nor how powerful they might be, but if the Vex decide to bare their full strength against us, whatever Vex construct they send will likely be one of the most powerful entities we have ever come into contact with.
-
For anyone curious have a read of the vex grimoire cards from D1, they explain that the vex we know are mainly used for computation and mining from memory
-
Yes, combat frames are yet to be deployed by the vex against the guardians. Unknown as to why, possibly because they are more curious than threatened at this point.
-
Whaaaaaat.

im surprised we have only so little planets uncovered yet these bad guys already went thru the whole universe and back
