I feel like you don't do anything. Like today, there was a guy obviously using a lag switch in quick play. People are bold enough to use them in every mode now. We never hear about what you're doing to keep the game clean, which leads some of us to believe that you do little to nothing because you don't want to lose cheater's money.

39 RepliesLaggy players are typically restricted anywhere from 2 weeks to permanent depending on how many restrictions they have had. Proven cheaters get perm bans from the game. They are not instant though. there are dozens every week that come through the help section crying they were banned or restricted for no reason.
-
1 ReplyI have been DDoSed in comp twice and both times the entire teams that hit us were banned within 3 days. So, to answer your question, they ban people.
-
Cheaters, boosters, hackers, bungie doesnt care. The only thing they even look at is DDoS.
-
1 ReplyRumble today a really lagging hunter.
offcourse on top
So reported for bad connection.
cant say cheater, because maybe player from northpole
Ps4 btw

Reports are received and they count up. If an account has a substantial number of reports of similar or identical offences against them that was received over an extended period of time, Bungie launches an investigation into the suspect account and takes action if necessary. On PC, the game can detect programs running on the machine that are potential cheating or exploiting programs and flags that account to Bungie with information on what that program is doing. If it is indeed a potential cheat - for any game - Bungie mods then manually issue the account ban. Reports are handled and Bungie does take action. It just takes time, there’s fewer mods than cheats.

Nothing.

Well I stumbled across obvious DDOSers today. Obvious as in you can see multiple DNFs in their game history and a quick google search of their names will pop up multiple complaints about them. Oh and their clan description has “contacting destiny servers” in it. Earliest complaints I’ve seen were from 13 months ago. Still no bans. So yea, what does bungie do with reports?

Drag to recycle bin, right click, empty recycle bin.

1 ReplyNow it really does seem like they only ban laggy people BUT to be devils advocate here to be fair I’m sure they get hundreds of reports a day claiming cheaters but let’s be honest this game is full of people who are just simply bad and can’t comprehend someone legit better than them so out of a hundred reports there’s probably only like 5-10 that actually turn out to be true and in that case it’s hard to know if any justice has been served as well you wouldn’t see them online again but that doesn’t mean they are banned either it’s something I wish bungie were more transparent on tbh

3 RepliesLike someone with an 800 elo all of a sudden gets 30 kills in a match, takes 0 damage and has unlimited supers 😂. I hit someone with shouler charge, punched them again. Shield never drops but i get punched once and die
-
Bungie: how would we stay open if not for the cheaters purchases.
-
ITT - people who bombed the priority their reports are given via salt reports complain that nothing seems to happen when they report someone.
-
Obviously nothing
-
nuffin.
-
1 ReplyThe report function is placebic.
-
6 RepliesThe report feature is just for show because you can report for exploiting but bungie said they will not ban for in game exploiting.
-
How do you know he pulled a lag switch? Maybe he just have bad internet. Or are you saying he/she lag switch because you cant take an L?
-
Throw them out. And with good reason. Most people that cry about cheating are usually just mad cause they got beat. I have heard DDOSing is more toxic on pc at higher comp levels. But I have never experienced this on console , hanging around 2-3k.
-
Not a damn thing! -Bungie
-
Bump, I have always wondered if iam wasting my time reporting. I never hear anymore about a banhammer swing I hope they answer this ?
-
or when they allow people with clearly terrible connection to still be in the game. lag switch or not it's just something that ruins it for other people :(
-
Well the guy if he did pull a “lag switch” then he probably would of been banned by now due to all the reports but it his internet could of dropped and that could of been the source of his lag. I played a game earlier and for some apparent reason this one game was a bit laggy and my internet slowed down a lot till 2 mins before game ended. Then the internet was moving at top speeds for the rest of the time I was on

They go in the round filing cabinet. No one knows what happens to them after that.

They take their sweet time investigating Longer than it takes to build a super with a blue loadout
