Thoughts on the Hush bow?
When this pinnacle weapon was announced, I saw a lot of complaints. People thought the perk wasn’t that good, or just didn’t like that it was a bow in general. I saw some of those same complaints when it actually became obtainable, but I also saw lots of positivity.
I only got mine today (Because that medal step was a painfully long process), and personally I think it’s a really great weapon. It’s strong, the perk makes it feel incredibly satisfying, and the hip fire requirement feels like it’s making me better with bows overall, as I’m not constantly aiming down sights.
So, what do other people think now that it’s been released for a while?

For a bow it’s great. I would probably use on PC, not on my console though.

I don’t have it yet, but I have seen reviews on it and it seems like it is ok. The perk allows it to out-dps all the other bows (maybe not le monarque?) in the game and opening shot grants good accuracy for activating the perk in pvp, especially for pc. Not to mention that it is solar and there is only one other solar bow in the game (The Vow from crimson days) I agree that the medal portion of the quest is way too much, but if you like bows (which I do) it is not a bad choice to go for. It will have a hard time replacing my oxygen or tarrabah, though.

It's good if you can get Archers Gambit going, especially if the enemy has a big crit spot and you want to save your other ammo. You can quickly start picking off adds even with body shots, which is not normally capable for bows which are mostly for hitting long-range targets. I think the Vow is easier to get better DPS using a bow as you don't have to hipfire, but you do have to nail precision shots to keep perks going, as rapid hit will disappear quickly unlike Archer's Gambit. If you want to get a bow calibration done for Banshee, Hush is not a bad choice.

Hush is too specific in how it works. I have a black armory bow with archers tempo and rampage that pulls off better damage and performance and i didnt have to grind it out either. Hush has a perk that normal bows can get but its harder to proc! It needs some razzle dazzle like the other pinnacles because as it stands right now its the worst of them all.

The consensus seems to be that its ok, and considering the work that goes into getting it, its just terrible.

my real opinion is that many missed out on "The Vow" and this is a substitute but not as good for they had to make it different for those who had the Vow.

It's fine. I still think Breakneck is better, but each weapon has its pros and cons in Gambit. I love bows, but I don't really use any bow in the energy slot besides Le Monarch, so I'll likely never rock Hush. 😕 But it was worth getting, regardless.

4 RepliesThe medals part isn't that long. I've played maybe 8 games and I'm at 30ish percent. I dont have mine because I expected using a bow in Gambit would suck. And, because I'm not a bow user. I was kind of wrong though. I feel like bows are probably one of the most effective weapons to use in Gambit.

2 RepliesThe hush is only really useful on pc, console users unfortunately get the lower end of the stick when they have to deal with anything that requires them to fire from the hip. The aim assist goes all over the place and hits will not register sometimes, hush on console really sucks. As for pc, hush is probably the best bow in the game, its much easier to land headshots on pc and firing from the hip with already no recoil makes the bow a dream come true. The issue is, even though its good on pc, there are just many other weapon archetypes that are just plain better. Bows overall are just meh so hush is just meh

1 ReplyI have 60% of the medals done only because I’ve grinded for the discounts and the armor quest steps. I have 49 final blows, with 14 being headshots with bows. Completely forgot Hush exists.

I enjoy it. I feel like it has really good in air accuracy. I run it with my stompees and a good hand cannon and feel for my purposes in quick play which is to have fun its great

Where the option for I don’t have it because gambit is a shit game mode?

It’s okay if your good at precision shots and the fact it’s legendary but the grind was a bit much and if your ok with losing an exotic slot wish bow is better

As far as bows go, it's the best one, no doubt there; but that's the problem. Bows are shit. Sure, they're fun to use and you can have some degree of success with them, but they're nothing compared to Pulse Rifles and Hand Cannons. Bows have no legitimate viability in neither PvE nor PvP.
