EDIT:
Here is list of all supers damage potential. Nova warp is absolutely worst of them all:

Here is another post which shows supers resistance to damage and duration. Nova warp is bottom tier in this category as well:

Original post:
I just tried to kill a Lost Sector boss with Nova Warp (several times). Took something like 10%- 15% of its health (edit for clarification: per long charge hit), much less than basically whatever heavy weapon.
Needs PvE buff. Big time. Its not even good for ads because teleport takes so much energy and it lasts so little time and has no exotics to extend duration.
In PvP it is just fine.
Edit: I know it is not boss damage super. That (lost sector boss) damage was just example to show how weak it is in comparison to any other damage in this game. Any other roaming super does tons of more damage. Its ad clearing potential is also weakest of all.

What if; instead of buffing it all, they did this: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/253102065

1 ReplyEdited by NiceGuyMLGFTW: 8/6/2019 10:32:04 PMWhat if we got a Chest Exotic that multiplies Damage to the enemy like Rampage? Here’s the idea: Warlock Chest Exotic: Void Rampage Hitting or killing an enemy continuously multiplies your damage and extends your super for each hit or kill. So how does this work?: It’s basically “Raiden Flux” Hunter Chest Exotic. Lol. So just copy and paste it, boom problem solved and we got a new Warlock Exotic. Community-mind-blown and happy. 😁 Edit: Thanks for the replies. Have a wonderful day everyone. 🙂🍸❤️🥂🍾

Pvp is not fine 🤣 1 v 1 a titan hammer and 1 v 1 a hunter with spectral blades they do you with one hammer and 2 slashes, where as the nova charges takes 2 holds of r2 to kill either in there super. Dont believe me try it you will loose every time.
-
Nova warp actually lasts a fairly long time and can get out more aoe attacks than striker, but the trade off is lower potential damage. I think this is a fair trade off but I understand how you feel in regards to damage. As for what can be done...maybe increase damage to minors and majors by 20% and mini bosses by 30%. It doesn't need higher boss damage, but help with mini bosses to cement it as a more...stormcaller style super.

1 ReplyIt was fine before the nerf (PvE), but with the PvP nerf they dragged both PvE and PvP down to Hell. Basically it’s Bungie Logic. It wouldn‘t surprise me if they nerfed something in Gambit and it gets nerfed in PvE and PvP as well. Oh wait... R.I.P. Sleeper, sleep well. Surprisingly the nerfs in PvE never effected the PvP part. I wish PvE would get what they want and not PvE. ...coming from someone who plays everything (except Raid).
DEAL WITH IT!
-
3 RepliesI blame PvP for any nerfs because they’ll have everything nerfed and when that happens, PvE takes a toll.
-
20 RepliesTrue, they nerfed because it was a monster in PvP but they forgot about what would happen with the PvE side...
-
1 ReplyIt needs an exotic like stormcaller has where kills extend the super duration as well to make it more viable in pve.
-
I agree it needs a PvE buff. I would also like to see the cost for teleporting in PvE at least reduced by a fair amount. I get its point in PvP, the maps are somewhat small so teleporting non stop could be a huge problem, but in PvE it makes it feel like the super runs out far to fast for a roaming super, and doesn't allow you to get across many of the somewhat bigger PvE areas, of which there are a fair amount more of than in PvP.
-
Have you tried the tractor cannon with nova warp? It helps a bit
-
5 RepliesIt's overall damage isn't that bad it just needs a long time to deal that damage compared to other supers. I agree it could do with an exotic to make it worth using, I mean Nezaracks works pretty well but I'd like to see one specific to nova warp. Choas and geomags is still king for big damage.
-
Yeah, it's embarrassingly bad, but if bungie cared they would've reverted it completely to its former glory, the last time they "adjusted" it. Sadly they don't, and we'll continue to suffer.
-
Use blink, it helps to close distance
-
15 RepliesWhy are you trying to kill bosses with it. It’s an ad clearing super. Other supers like this like sentinel, striker, dawnblade, spectral, arc staff do sucky damage to the same bosses. If you wanna use a super to kill lost sector bosses, use slova. It’s designed for that. Using something for something is isn’t made to do will never work.
-
I think they should make it do more damage than stormtrance. Stormtrance = amazing ad clearance capability due to duration, Nova Warp = shorter duration but can easily 1-shot majors and 3-shot minibosses. This makes it kind of a unique ad clearance super that specializes in more powerful enemies.
-
1 ReplyAs a roaming AoE damage super... That seems fine. Heck, even with Melting Point + Tractor Cannon, Hammer of Sol can't even take down a Lost Sector boss (The one that explodes into additional explosions) At least Nova Warp can do AoE unlike Spectral Blades (Which can neither do amazing boss DPS nor add clear) and well... For Boss DPS the subclass has Nova Bomb which will one shot Lost Sector bosses. Roaming Supers just don't really do boss damage. Which sucks for Titan because literally all their Supers are Roaming Supers (Unless you count Ward of Lul). At least Warlock has choices of Boss murdering Supers and Roaming Supers on all of their subclasses.
-
2 RepliesIts damage us fine. Look at it and you can directly compare it to spectral blades and it clearing add will win hands down. Roaming supers army ment for boss dps
-
its not really designed for pve to be honest. you cant do that much damage with top tree golden gun either. and laughably arc missile titan too lol
-
1 ReplyI know it needs a damage buff in pve but, unless you're just spamming attack, it definitely does more than 10-15% damage on a LS boss. You don't have to lie to make a point.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Mythic, Harbinger of Light: 8/5/2019 1:39:01 PMI just tested Nova Warp on Greg (you know the ogre on Titan). It leaves him with 1/4 health after all detonations. Your percentage is a lie! Yes this Super needs a small buff to majors (50%), but against mini-bosses or bosses only a 15% buff.
-
Geo mags is still the boss killer..... Nova and tractor canon is still great. I rarely use nova warp outside of crucible and prefer flame sword or even tickle fingers.
-
Was it a WANTED boss ? They have much more health than normal ones, Plus any super with big aoe damage shouldn't be that powerful.
-
This isn’t unique to nova warp (though nova warp is probably the weakest in this regard), because the super is designed around mainly ad clear where it excels. It’s not gonna excel at single boss damage. Both for example strikers and arc striders will also have trouble with the 1 boss target (though you may be right with nova warp doing to least amount to the boss out of those two)
-
6 RepliesWhy do I keep seeing people saying that roaming supers are for ads and not bosses this is stupid a super should by design be made to deal with both it’s your characters special bungie do not specify ad control or boss dps it’s a case of what you like and what fits your load out and before most supers are nerfed they work perfect in pve unless they need a damage buff cause there under performing
-
thats a roaming super, its for ad control not so much boss fights, thats why u have nova bomb for that
-
12 RepliesBuff Spectral in PvE. See it sounds dumb because Spectral is PvP oriented. So is Nova Warp.
