The event just started, why are you trying to burn through the steps in 2 days? Instead of trying to grind it all out in a day or 2, spread that time out over the course of the event, and not only will you have all the armor, you wont be burned out. You are doing it to yourself, it's not the game. Also, if it took you 9 hours to go from set 1 to 2, you are doing something wrong. Are you sure you paid attention to what you were supposed to be doing?
