I like the argument, "it's only cosmetics" True, but aren't event's supposed to be fun collecting new items especially knowing it's a timed event leading a path as Barrett said around when Downing was going on? https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46567
Eververse We recognize that the scales are tipped too far towards Tess at the moment, and Eververse was never intended to be a substitute for end game content and rewards. So, we’ll be making three changes for upcoming Seasons: We’re shifting the balance of new content in favor of activity rewards over Bright Engrams. This includes adding Ghosts, Sparrows, and ships (to date found only in Bright Engrams) to achievement reward pools. We'll provide a gameplay path to earn Bright Engrams and all contained rewards (including Event Engrams). We’ll give players more direct purchase options and make adjustments to Bright Engrams to allow players to get the items they want more often.
Edit: The issue isn't Tess selling items and never has been, the issue is the path Bungie has set up for this event is selfish. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) No engram to earn items from this event, the cost using bright dust to purchase items are really high. Whoops, I forgot, even the resources have been reduced and the grind for the gear and other items is extended a lot longer and when you think you are finished upgrading the gear you're actually not because you have a choice to trade it in for something new when Shadow Keep drops?

  • There are very few event eververse items for this years event. So if they provided you an engram for every level up, you'd have ALL the items without ever visiting the eververse store. I dont like it either but i understand the economics of the decision. The bright dust through gameplay rewards would be nice to have already to help balance the scales of silver and free currency to provide a path at buying these items, but at the end of the day, they really are just cosmetic. Plus, will you really be using the solstice armor ALL the way through Shadowkeep? Probably not. So you wont even be able to equip the glow ornaments. Long term, these items dont matter.

  •

If L The event that has you play the game isn't fun.
Is that English?
It's funny how people I have muted still make replies to me even though they know I muted them. Hmm, expressing my option about something I see means I'm not having any fun with the game? how does that work???

  • The l was a typo Should read "if the event that has you play the game isn't fun..." Not really that hard to understand. Not sure how 1 letter can completely throw you off.

Have they forgotten what they said already?

  • Nope, it's the higher-ups that just don't give a flying hoot that they refuse to backup their own words.

  • I thought just playing the game was suppose to be fun. It seems as though a lot of people here like to choose entertainment they don't enjoy.

  • Isn't the whole punchline behind Bungie's "we're listening" ridicule the fact that they tell the community what they want to hear until the next time they go overboard on an event where nothing really changed?
Isn't the whole punchline behind Bungie's "we're listening" ridicule the fact that they tell the community what they want to hear until the next time they go overboard on an event where nothing really changed?
It only shows how many people fall for the nonsense of how easily they are able to be fooled. It's actually sad how today's generation is so far gone with gaming. Back in the day companies had to put the effort into creating a game. Now? let's use Tess, screw the concept of what the game was created for because they will throw money at the screen.

  • I have mixed feelings on it. Bungie is in territory that I dont agree with. They could have put half or a quarter of the new EV items in an Engram, and the rest as purchase only. Cosmetics are a fun part of gameplay that I know Bungie understand, but I also know they're monetizing that fun. But on the other hand, I support the direct purchase options. It's actually how I voiced my opinion through the whole #RemoveEververse uproar. At the end of the day, I'm not going to give them too much of a hard time, but I am always going to poke fun at the hot topics.

  • We all have our opinion about Tess but as you said, meeting halfway would have been the wise move. Giving that it's an event that most expect new item without having to pay for it or having to way over grind, not having that engram for the event was not a smart move.

How many bounties do you need to complete to buy an exotic emote costing 3250 bright dust?

  • So, it appears these bounties are daily but have a weekly deadline each time. 2590 a week is decent but it’s not like it can’t be improved. They tried revamping the clan progression with bounties and look how that turned out

  • +150 Bright Dust Objective: Play Five matches of Gambit or Gambit Prime. Figure on an hour at best to play FIVE matches and for what? 150 Bright Dust? That’s 1/33rd of a single one of the glow packages. You gonna play around 500 matches of gambit to get all three? Log in every day to run errands for Tess for an hour just to glow? Nah. I’ll pass.
