15,000 BRIGHT DUST JUST FOR THE GLOWS?

AND THE ONES FROM LAST YEAR DON’T WORK, OR EVEN AT LEAST GIVE A DISCOUNT? AFTER HOW MUCH BRIGHT DUST THE TRIBUTE HALL COST? Season of Opulence indeed. Edit to elaborate: Why was Bright Dust ever involved in Tribute Hall? A currency reserved for Eververse suddenly being of any kind of importance to Calus? Yet people are still sitting around with full stacks of Baryon Bough that are good for LITERALLY. NOTHING. Then there’s the matter of how much cheaper the glows were last year, while also being available for free unlock through leveling up. Now it’s way more expensive with no alternative. It’s just as backwards as when Year 1 drop rate for Exotics was super high and Three of Coins were unnecessary. Then Year 2 comes, Exotic drop rate gets severely nerfed and Three of Coins are removed. It’s such backwards logic that gets us nowhere. And the fact that those who were here in Year 1 and claimed full sets of Majestic armor, as well as all the glows, had that armor invalidated in WEEKS. The glows became USELESS. Now logic would state that those who worked for them should be able to use the same glows on the updated gear, yet we have updated Ornaments. Which would be fine and all, if there we any kind of lessened cost as a result, but there’s absolutely nothing. It’s just one thing after another. And if this is the trend going into Shadowkeep? Yeah. Edit again for those saying “just don’t buy them”: what then, would you say is the draw of solstice of heroes? What’s one of the biggest things Bungie has advertised about SoH since the Opulence Roadmap came out? Did Bungie ever act as though the Majestic Armor was the real endgame of SoH, or did they constantly show the armor with the Ornaments? You know, the Ornaments similar to the Revelry flair we temporarily got, but for free? The glow packages we got FROM ENGRAMS LAST YEAR? That if you just played enough, you received at NO COST? The Ornaments have always been one of the biggest motivators of SoH because they’re the closest we’ve got to Chroma in D2, aside from Prime armor that only really glows in Gambit. Yet it’s locked behind such a ridiculous wall of BD. The idea of unlocking this kind of endgame cosmetic through actual gameplay seems to be OUT OF THIS WORLD in the modern gaming industry. Why not make it so masterworking your Solstice Gear grants the glows? It seems to be such a foreign concept that used to be natural to Bungie. Looking at YOU Nanophoenix. “BuT iTs STiLl pUrChAseAble ThRoUgh GaMepLaY” Bounties give 150 Bright Dust for ridiculous objectives. Five Gambit matches to get 150 Bright Dust, when I could dismantle an RNG drop Exotic Ship from a Best of Year One and get FIVE HUNDRED. And once again, here we go again with Shadowkeep. And just so everyone is aware, I’ve now purchased all three glows. And now have 160 Bright Dust. But here comes SHADOWKEEP WITH NO ENGRAMS, HANG ON TO YOUR SEATS BOYS AND GIRLS One more edit: I find it hilarious that the new Ornaments STILL SUFFER from the SAME BUG AS LAST YEAR, where the ornament for the Hunter cloak doesn’t glow properly in social spaces. Same exact bug, so it’s clearly THE SAME CODING with a little flair. Yet players who already HAD the glows cant use them. Smh. Last edit: done responding to people. • I can't get, why they sell every subclass separatly?! I mean, someone plays only one subclass for a year? No! It's like add DLC with new subclass during year 1. Stupid. If full pack for three subclass cost 5k dust, I think it would be fine.

  • Agreed not everyone has a million dust it’s stupid the costs I think 1500 is an understandable amount if not make it obtainable from the “solstice packages” which award absolutely nothing solstice related until you get the purple gear

  • Dear Bungo, The current players of your game (for the most park) bought this game and all its DLCs. So stop pricing things like we haven’t bought in and simply downloaded this game on a whim. This would be the part where I’d say, thank you for listening but we both know that’s just lip service.

  • It’s too suspicious that the Tribute Hall existed to drain resources, including Bright Dust, and immediately after is another event meant to drain your bright dust. I would have zero problem if you couldn’t literally purchase bright dust or if bounties gave more than freaking 20-150. This is a shameless cash grab. It’s REALLY making me consider my investment in this game if this is where we are headed.

      • I'm pretty sure the glows are not impacting any in game experience. And I also assume that once you earn shadowkeep gear you wont wear Solstice armor. I am also sure that the armor is earned for FREE in game and does not require bright dust or your money. I'm also sure you sound pretty entitled. Opulence is has delivered the best PVE content outside of raids we have ever seen. Leveling is easier and more accessible for new and returning players. I fully support bungie on this one, as long as the content continues to be at or above the Forsaken and Opulence quality.

        • I dont understand why people still play this game.. I really don't. Week after week bungie disrespects its base and each time it gets more and more disrespectful. People have pumped hundreds into the destiny franchise and what do they do? Drain you of your resources, raise the prices on items.. in some cases by over 100% and push you towards their store. I could understand if the content was THAT good but you have been grinding the same content for over a year now with leaks that in the new dlc you'll have to again re-re-grind the same content. Exotics that you've had for years already bbn reintroduced in a nerfed state. Balance changes and updates that should take days you dont get for weeks. I just dont understand why people accept this kind of treatment, let alone pay for it.

Man anyone miss the chromas we used to have? They could be found by just playing the game. I’m really surprised we don’t have to pay for ammo in this game.....LOL

Not to excuse the pricing, which is way out of line, but I realized something this morning. I won’t keep infusing my Solstice gear as I level in Shadowkeep, because it’s a waste of cores. By the time I hit max light, I’ll probably have new armor sets I’m chasing anyway. So Bungie can keep their glows. Maybe, if I do get a Solstice set to Legendary, I’ll drop 5k dust on one set of glows in a moment of weakness. Maybe. Honestly, the real prize of the Solstice of Heroes is the tiny Sparrow! Much more reasonably priced and I guarantee you I’ll be using that thing all the time.

its this expensive to give you an incentive to spend real money to buy silver.. and i do even think that people would spend WAY more silver and thus real world money if bungie would not overdrive the prices to hardcore. armor ornament 0,99$ ? okay get me some.. armor ornament. 8$ ? Lol whut? none.. in no way, shape or form will i ever spend 25$ for a bucket of pixels in my video game..

                    • Its just pure cosmetics. Doesn't buff or anything. You do not need it. If you can't afford it with bright dust pay $10. If you don't want to pay that then no biggie. It doesn't affect your gameplay.

                    • Why does the whole forum start moaning when cosmetic content gets put in the game? You get plenty of bright dust, you can get thousands of the stuff just buy playing. You don't need it or require it for anything so am not sure what the the deal is. Just seems like we are in a constant cycle of moaning about one thing then the next.

                      • I totally agree. At a certain moment the Eververse store was kind of “ok”. If you played a lot you could definitely get most of the stuff that you wanted in a season just by getting the engrams by levelling up. And if not most people could buy it with the bright dust that they earned in the same way. Giving us all this new stuff in the season but no engrams to get them is really poor way to lock content. You could argue about it that you just buy it with the dust that you get from dismantling the best of year one engrams, because you probably already have most of that stuff anyway. The prices that you pay in bright dust are steep but ok... That was the limit imo. Now we have to pay Emperor Bungie bright dust to get Bad JuJu and the catalyst... That’s definitely NOT cosmetic anymore. Also at a very steep cost. This is really not ok and almost no one complained about it. Now this with the glows.... again at a very steep cost. And no event engrams? Wtf? So we have to buy the Opulence stuff AND the Solstice crap with bright dust? Good luck if you’re a collector. Even when you play hardcore, if you want it all, you almost definitely will have to buy silver. And maybe if you’re on a mountain of bright dust you can still get everything for free this season. But if they keep it up this way for every future season, you will definitely not be able to keep it up that way if you’re a collector. We’ll have to wait to see what Shadowkeep brings but all this does not bode well. I’m curious which engrams that you will earn by levelling up... if they do it again like this season by not giving you engrams of the actual season... then they can have their cosmetics. It’s a debatable situation because, for me, micro transactions do not belong in a full retail game with DLC that you have to buy. The game will become free with New Light, so it will be their excuse for extra revenue. But it will only be free till Forsaken and most players already own that. And new or old player, you still have to pay full price for the annual passes and Shadowkeep. And you will buy those if you keep playing the game, because that’s the point of a long term game that you are willing to invest the time in. They just give you the first half of the game for free to get you hooked enough to buy the rest. That’s ok but that way you will eventually buy the DLC and then there’s no place for micro transactions imo. The only silver I ever had was because I preordered Forsaken and it was included. So Bungie read this: I never bought and never will buy silver for content that should be accessible by playing the game. There will be people here that disagree with me and that’s fine as well. But I do think that we all agree that Eververse is going a few steps (understatement) in the wrong direction this way.

The problem is not the dust price of the eververse items. The current problem is the the dust you can earn from game items VS the cost of eververse items. Bungie needs to do something to lvl the gains VS costs. Not everyone have huge amounts of dust and since this event not gona have specific engrams , they should us get dust from EAZ runs.
