This isn’t a shit post. It’s just a... sad realization post.
I finally got the hunter legs from CoS this week, but it means nothing. I’ll only get to use them for a few more weeks before they’re left behind and I delete them.
Last time it happened with EP armor and Solstice armor.
When Curse of Osiris came out I quit this game for months, but I came back with Forsaken. I’ve taken breaks and whatnot, but I’ve generally enjoyed this game ever since. But, I just have that feeling again... why keep playing this game when loot just doesn’t matter and my time gets crapped on?
I think the changes being made to armor are good for the game, but I think Bungie should have done more to make sure our vault wasn’t wiped out again. They should have made all year 2 armor available as ornaments.
Even the cabal only destroyed our vaults once, Bungie. This is your second time in 2 years.
Edit: thanks for all the bumps. It would be cool if Bungie saw this and worked on getting all armor brought forward to 2.0. If they can turn all Eververse armor into ornaments, maybe they can do the same with all armor.

Well the armour isnt going to become obsolete. It is a definite way of having the perks you need whilst you grind for new gear which will mostly have the same perks as far as we know. The new system is only really changing the way armour works in the sense that you can take the perks from one set to another. Sure, the new intellect discipline and strength is something to take into account but for starting out the armour we have now will still be fully functional and as useful as it is right now.

Tbh I actually don’t care. I’m here for the raids and story content. As long as my clan is still active and raiding weekly my armor doesn’t matter that much. But the CoS armor is actually beautiful lmao

It's not just with armor. Bungo does this with exotics and pinnacle weapons all the time. This is how they operate. It's sad.

Edited by ScottF 2112: 7/28/2019 8:30:14 PMAh but think of how much vault space we'll all have here in a few weeks :)

5 RepliesYou’d hate World of Warcraft then lol
-
1 Replyyou feel the opposite of what i feel... i never had any god rolls so im fine with all my stuff being taken from me because i dont have anything to take.
-
Edited by A KOOL POP TART: 7/28/2019 8:24:42 PMWe'll see. I'm still planning on running the same loadout ive been running for the past 3 years because it's the armor I like and it's the armor i worked hard to get.

I know not to invest in my armor to a high degree. Yes I looked like a space hobo for 2 years, yes I’m not a solid wall of defense when I go super, yes I’m rambling. The costs were too high, masterworking is a joke and infusion was just plain silly. Now maybe we’ll see.

Cya. Don’t wanna B ya.
-
Yeah kinda bummed that I will lose my most favorite armor completely since it is eververse armor and they will be gone completely and just be an ornament -.-
-
Then this game is not quite for you.And the genre as a whole is also better not to try.
-
3 RepliesAnd cod players have to reset stats every cod title
-
1 ReplyIt sounds like the trade-off will be worth it this time. Look on the bright side: just think about all the shards, cores and mats you'll get when you dismantle your old armor to make room for the new.
-
2 RepliesThen just stop playing. There are enough people who will play and buy the game for Bungie to make a living. Unfortunately.
-
4 RepliesIf you play for the experience and not the loot it will be more enjoyable. That's how I felt when I focused on loot too. The loot can't satisfy in the end. But the experiences, gameplay, and friendships can.
-
If that's the case, doesn't it also apply to other games as well? You play, you earn, and then move on to other games, repeat., etc. We all know that Destiny 3 will eventually happen in the future.
-
1 ReplyOld perks work my dude, there’s just a new system coming
-
31 RepliesYou wont lose your armor and it will still work like it does now. Only difference is with armor 2.0 you can put on your own perks. The old armors will still work as they do now.

Edited by WormChi: 7/28/2019 7:08:50 PMAgreed. I have god roll armor for sniper, linear fusion rifle and handcannon that I’ve grinded my ass off for this last year. Now it’s all mute. I think they should add intellect discipline and strength to old armor so it’s not completely out classed. Also what about Prime armor? Are they making new 2.0 sets? If so that means Reckoning was a complete waste of time.
-
I’m not too worried about it. This game is a grind. It’s designed to be so. I expect that I’ll prefer the new options for armour once Shadowkeep drops. I do understand your frustration.
-
For me, it's not so much about perks as appearance. I like my armor sets.
-
I have all the enhanced perks and combinations of them for every type of loadout that I run. The only good thing will be is being able to build exactly what we want. Whether or not it's a fun or rewarding experience is on Bungie and the economy surrounding the new armor.
-
12 RepliesDude it’s not even confirmed that all existing armour won’t be 2.0. Stop listening to fear mongering you tubers like Rick kackiss who post 10 minutes of click bait for views and wait for bungie to officially state what’s happening
-
Where is the proof that the gear won’t sync with new mods?
-
Must never have played a MMO before.
-
Bud, the only way your vault gets destroyed is if you hold the button to delete it yourself. You're allowed to have multiple sets. I still keep a last wish set with the transcendent mods in it for when I need to help someone with that raid. I also have multiple sets for multiple activities such as crucible, gambit prime, and pve content. I know it's crazy to most of you guys to think it's worth building and keeping armor sets for different occasions. But then again it seems even more crazy that the majority of you find one piece of armor with a perk you like and keep it forever even if it doesnt match any of your other armor's aesthetics.. And then theres the rest of you that play a strike, keep that 1 piece forever and complain you'll have to "grind" another set again. Please, I highly doubt your precious armor that you're claiming will get "left behind" was even worth anything in the first place.
