Take the time to play test this stuff to see how long it would take for goodness sake
Nobody wants to spend weeks to a month on a quest step involving hundreds of grenade launcher kills and multi-kills in pvp. not easy and takes way to long. (MOUNTAINTOP quest)
or the grenade kills for Iron banner is terribly designed and only leads to frustration. 50 greande kills takes a long time BUNGIE and is not a walk in the park either with all the erentil, shotgun, chaperon abuse (IRON BANNER quest) ( i know its being fixed but for many the damage has already been done since they suffered through it already)
THE GRIND FEELS FORCED INSTEAD OF ENCOURAGED
its ok if the overall quest is long but if the steps require 2+ week time periods to finish then thats ridiculous

Edited by LocoToopa: 7/30/2019 8:35:04 PMI want to see lots of quests that take varied amounts of time, from days to months, to complete.

3 RepliesThe grind is real, but real enough to reward those who are willing to do it. If your not willing then you shouldn’t reap the rewards. At least it’s a Quest not RNG. RNG is Hell when you never get what you need/want grinding forever.

3 RepliesEdited by KingSimp_UwU: 7/28/2019 12:34:54 AMEvery quest feels really dragged out because the grind is boring. I can't really after with the "pinnacle weapons are supposed to be grindy" argument; it doesn't matter to me if it's a hard or easy grind. It has to be fun and not dragged out or else people will start giving up because it's boring

1 ReplySo it seems like you're not a fan of pvp...so why do think you are the target audience for a pvp quest? I'm not a fan of the gambit or vanguard pinnacle quests but I realize that I'm definelty not a gambit or PvE player so I don't ask for those things to be changed. You don't need mountaintop, recluse, swarm of the raven or the iron banner armor to succeed in any PvE activity (you barely need a gun) just like I don't need any of the gambit or vanguard gear to succeed in pvp.

1 ReplyI wouldn’t mind the grind if we had unique Iron Banner rewards and I don’t mean a bunch of sh*t rolled armor that looks the same as a previous season’s. I mean unique exotic ships, class items(remember the hammer on the hip), emotes(emote earned by playing IB not paying $ for). Ah well....

3 RepliesHave you played any MMO, ever? It sounds like you haven't. Suck up buttercup.
-
7 RepliesThis is a game - A GAME - why i have to work here harder than on my real job, why we have to grind anything at all?! Gameplay have to entertain us - grind is not gameplay. Lost over 30 hours for Mountaintop quest - got just 43% of double kills.
-
It is forced because loot is the only thing keeping people playing Crucible. Most people hate it.
-
Crucible would be on life support without it. Instead of making it more enjoyable by fixing the problems, they just make it mandatory for quests and say -blam!- you. It's sad, I used to like playing crucible, now I probably wouldn't care too much if it was removed completely. I'd rather they fixed things, but it's not likely.

1 ReplyIf I find them too long I just don’t do them.
-
Get Good.

10 RepliesThe fact people are defending grind so much is incomprehensible. I agree to say grind is part of the Destiny's essence, but not that much.
-
I'm currently grinding for Redrix's Broadsword. I've been grinding for this weapon for a while now and seeing that I need to reset my valor rank 5 times in a single season I'm losing all interest in playing PvP
-
2 RepliesThen stop worrying about it. Just play and have fun, pick up bounties, turn them in. Some quests, if you arent good enough will take you an eternity or never to finish. Like the last word, if you cant keep a positive k/d for 10-15 matches, even less if you can get 20+ kills a game, then you wont be getting it.
-
1 ReplyThe iron banner quest is long yes but it's easy if you just focus on doing what the steps require. Me and my friend did this and got the entire quest done 8n 2 days last time iron banner was around
-
These are both pvp activities
-
Good. Play the thing, do the thing to get the thing. Stop complaining. These weapons are all PvP players have gotten since forsaken came out! Stop crying for nerfs and stop crying about the quest steps to get these weapons.
-
5 RepliesCrucible related weapons such as Recluse, Revoker, Mountaintop etc. should have PvP steps in them but as for reaching fabeled etc. I think having something similar to Revoker is the way forward. Getting X amount of kills and X amount of competitive points so it doesn't matter what rank you reach. However I understand that these guns are meant to be difficult to get so only the people who put the work in get them.
-
1 ReplyIm fine with quests taking a long ass time. Its just the repetitive nature of these that's too much.
-
1 ReplyI don't mind doing steps that involve pvp. I just don't like having to be a detriment to my team because of certain steps.
-
1 ReplyIf you take weeks or months to get grenade kills, then you're clearly doing something wrong. Using a sticky+a last word shot always guaranteed a kill for me. Keep in mind friendly grenades help progress as well, but yes I agree the grind was long
-
Yes the grind does suck but also thats part of destiny the grind. Mountaintop i cheesed and applaud anyone who sold their sould to the devil and did it legit. IB armor will be useless with shadowkeep so i wouldnt worry much
-
2 Replies+ Casual.

Edited by CatMan: 7/29/2019 6:30:27 AM....padding bro. They don't have time to fully test the quest so they add padding. Look at the last iron banner step, very unnecessary, but they needed something. I haven't seen one quest where I liked every step. I wouldn't be nearly as pissed if it were new weapons/weapons ties to quests.... Idk wtf I'm on about.
-
Like someone else said, they are just padding their pathetic quests with with easy-to-design, uncreative steps like ‘kill 100 X enemies.’ This is a sign of a failed company who cannot be bothered to create compelling content because it would hurt their bottom line and their creatively-bankrupt brains.

Out of all the pennicale weapons the hush bow felt the most annoying to me. Mtn top took a long time, but it was pretty easy once you get into the mindset. Most people wanna try and get it done quickly thinking triplle nade launchers will make it easier. And well that's wrong because alot of the other breach firing nade launchers are niche weapons that you have to take time to get good with. Just equip a good play of the game and hog heavy ammo. Stay in a somewhat confined space and get your kills. Easy enough.
