I know there's going to be that one guy that brings up IKELOS. Okay, I get it, but for one, it's an anomaly.
I'm mainly talking about the Hard Truths. Which is the only aggressive frame SMG that you can get random rolls on as of late. It has horrible stats. The default magazine size is a measly 26. It shoots slower than the 900 RPMs, but hardly holds any kind of damage advantage. And I'm honestly not even sure how Bungie intends for the intrinsic aggressive frame perk to even work. For the unaware, "High damage, high recoil. Deals bonus damage at close range". Gotta say, if there is bonus damage, it's not noticeable.
And the stats on it are just awful. 26 in the mag is the same as an Antiope-D. Except the Antiope does more damage and is much more easier to control in terms of recoil. And appended mag on a Hard Truths adds 1 bullet. A single bullet.
Other things, the Imminent Storm, another aggressive frame SMG available from Shaxx during season 3, acquired by getting glory, had steady rounds on it, which makes a world of difference. The Hard Truths cannot get this perk.
The Hard Truths has a big range stat, even though the intrinsic perk revolves entirely around being up close.
It does a meager 22 damage a headshot and 15 on a body. For firing 150 rounds slower, I'd take any precision frame SMG for consistent kills at a respectable range for an SMG. Or for another 150 rounds per minute faster, I'd take a lightweight frame or even adaptive frame SMG, both of which have better stability and recoil control (for the most part) for a close range, swiss cheese making machine. It hits too low for what the frame says, and doesn't know where it belongs. Is it supposed to be a somewhat longer range SMG? Not sure.
Speaking of range, I've yet to nab one with a masterwork that is NOT range. Not sure if it's just horrible luck or just how it is meant to be.
And let's look at the design for a second. And my goodness does it have a mean muzzle break. Especially for an SMG. You'd think you would be firing high caliber rounds with the size of that thing. And yet, it still kicks like a pre-fix Avalanche. And it still shoots peas.
Reloads pretty slow too. Not sure why an SMG has such a slow reload stat, or any other compact weapon for that matter. But okay I guess.
I don't even know why I'm trying to make it useful in the Iron Banner. I get killed by people shooting their shotgun twice while rushing me before this damn little thing can bring them down. Guess I'm just bored. But I would like to see more variety in the crucible, because every match seems to be a repeat of the last.
