Is this event really is about microtransactions? Maybe the best looking armor in the game locked behind bright dust (spent on tribute hall) and silver (IRL money)? Wow, I'm seriously disappointed.

Are you talking about the solstice armor? Because that’s earned through completing tasks. The glows are eververse, but last time this event was around I was able to get them all incredibly easily. And with them being sold directly this time around, it won’t be rng based.

Imagine a world where you complain about cosmetics, especially when those cosmetics are available with in-game earned currency (bright dust)

Edited by Kieldon: 7/24/2019 7:42:30 PMIngame currency that is tied to RNG engrams that can be bought with real money. Yeah, imagine that world. Lootboxes. And I'm an idiot for wanting to earn stuff through gameplay.

Its COSMETIC. Keep those pearls close bro.

Edited by Kieldon: 7/24/2019 7:48:19 PMBut why can't we get the cosmetic rewards, tied to the armor, through gameplay? This isnt and alternative skin, this is more like a visual upgrade. I understand you, there is no benefit in those ornaments, but it's limited for only one month, engrams wont be there this time and it's the best thing about the armor. Obviously everyone's gonna want it.

Pop some fireteam medallions and get to grinding then. Should be able to rake in 1k dust every 4 hours pretty easily after the first three boosted engrams. Also make sure to grab some eververse bounties, they reward 20-25 dust per ticket spent, they can help.

Do you mean the armor ornaments? because the armor itself is completely from game-play. It introduces a new play area with sandbox changes, in game loot (cores, engrams, materials) and introduces a beautiful looking armor set we can use for shadow keep. I wouldn't say its all about microtransactions...

Edited by Kieldon: 7/24/2019 7:27:07 PMAnd yet, at least once in a year they could've made an event where you can make your armor completely without spending real life money or a currency directly tied to it. Most of these items will still be obtainable only through eververse. Only the basic armor is obtainable in the event itself, if I understand it correctly.

The armor itself is available in game and can be upgraded in game. The armor GLOWS are available through eververse. Just makes the legendary armor glow with whatever element you have equipped.
-
yea the event is about upgrading the armor you earn, from the first picture to the third picture. The shiny gold outfit is the legendary version you need to unlock through gameplay. it is not purchasable.
