Dont Nerf Pulse Rifles in the next sandbox in order to buff up Autos and Scout Rifles

Bungie i know your looking into scouts and how to make them better but nerfing any of the meta that is currently in a good space right now is not the answer just throwing this out there because i know how you guys love nerfing stuff

  • Aggressive frame and adaptive could use some adjustments as they are good at any range and have a little too fast of a ttk. All the other frames feel balanced except high impact that could use a small buff.

  • If pulses aren't toned down, the issue will persist and then we'll have more and even worse issues. They need to lose some range and get a bit more damage fall off so scouts dont have to compete with them in their range. That range should be scouts, bows, and snipers. Pulse rifles should not be in that range type. Period. And autos are fine, I dont get why so many of you think they need buffing. They can still perform well but they shouldn't be amazing. Why? Because they're the easiest thing to use and fully automatic. Harder to use gear should be more rewarding, autos dont meet that criteria. Scouts themselves are fine, there's nothing more you can do to them without making them too strong and this is why pulses need to be nerfed. The rest is encounter/activity/level design.

    • Hate to say from a console perspective atleast aggressive frames need some sorta nerf to range or stability or something. Played with a right side of wrong for a bit in iron banner because I was bored of using my kindled orchid(basically only energy primary I carry) and wanted to use arbalest. Needless to say I feel dirty as all get after a couple of matches, swear the thing is good at all ranges and kills fast. Adaptive I do see issues with but that could just be maps. Now as for some other issues, maps obviously are a big problem for scouts. Basically you camp a lane which on some maps can be hard to do and hope you dont get flinched by a pulse rifle. Auto rifles I think the problem is the optimal ttk being so horrible on a lot of them for how bad their stability is. Obviously not including a very good roll on high impact ones and what not. In general feel they do need a bit more leniency in it or some better stability to make getting headshots easier. Again all console related do I'm sure PC is whole different story and we all know bungie refuses the idea of two different sandboxes

      • If my redrix broadsword gets nerfed I swear to god, I put so much time into that gun and it's the only pulse I like, if it gets nerfed I swear to mother -blam!-i-

      • Pulse rifles have a lot of range, but so do hand cannons and god knows the community doesn’t want their precious hand cannons touched. I will never agree to any pulse rifle nerfs until I see hand cannons getting nerfed as well.

        • Pulses DO need a slight range nerf. That's it though. It's one of the main things that completely kills Scouts.

        • They need an adjustment to their effective range, i would like to see an adjustment across the entire sandbox so each archetype has a more defined role, with strict damage fall off for using a weapon outside its intended range.

        • I agree with this, but I do think pulse rifles should have their flinch nerfed. Getting hit with one burst seems to send my reticle sky high.

        • Since bows got into the game and sniper rifles got moved from the heavy slot there isn't a good place to use a scout rifle unless you just want to use one for "just 'cause". You can 2 tap with a bow and OHK with a sniper rifle. If pulse rifles are getting neutered, so should bows. Once this happens, then we'll be back to Y1 Mida meta.

        • They need a nerf, they are to ranged, they literally eliminate the need for scouts. My opinion, nerd pulse range, all pulse actually are are over glorified burst auto rifles? Why should they have more damage at range than scouts?

        • Its like you people don’t see more than the big buzzword NeRf. And as soon as you see that you just go into fight or flight mode jesus christ. You realise pulses have taken over scouts as the best in slot for mid to long to short ranges. And they are a huge factor into the complete abandonment of scouts and autos? Forgive me for making assumptions but one would have to assume you actually do realise the problem given than you’re now scared of such a change out of the blue. Don’t be a simpleton, nerfs aren’t inherently bad, in fact they’re necessary.

          • Would rather pulse rifles be nerfed. It's bullshit that they do damage at a long range when they are suppose to be mid to short range. Scout rifles are long to mid range. Auto rifles are mid to short range. Handcannons no matter the rpm are suppose to be mid to short range. Sidearms and sube machine guns are short range. Shotguns well need I say more besides they need to be in the heavy slot. Sniper rifles long range and need to be put back in the heavy slot. Fusion rifles short range and need to be put back in the heavy slot. Sorry shotguns sniper rifles and fusion rifles need to be place back in the heavy slot where they belong. For the reason of its not going to kill you to adapt to using primaries as the main source of getting kills of any kind. It would have also kept the whispers uniqueness from being taken away since it was the only sniper minus the darci that was still a heavy. Seriously before I got whisper i sued the ikolos sniper rifle to help me get it. The only thing that was different between the ikolos and whisper was ikolos didn't magically make bullets out of thin air and instead has a triple tap that pulled from reserves. Wow such a change when that shit Destiny 1 weapon system came back just so PvP only players could one tap people with that no skill shotgun again.

            • Pulses need a range nerf that’s all. Slightly longer range then autos. Handcannons should also have a small range nerf. Then decrease roaming supers by 25% then you’re looking st a much more balanced pvp

              • What’s funny about scouts is the way everyone plays makes scouts boring AF as well. Just played a fortress match. Should be good for scouts but everyone just stays inside and shotguns doorways. Lame
