Raid mechanics/difficulty

Basically what I’d like to see in the raids is essentially less mechanics. I’m not saying make it easier rather make it harder to stay alive. Have hoards and hoards of adds, increase boss AI intelligence, abilities and aggression or something along those lines. I’ve fallen out of wanting to raid because of the mechanics that I don’t think suit the looter shooter ideology. I don’t think I’m alone in this and I’m not saying I’ve got the answers but I think moving forward the game should aim away from the get a buff, dunk or pass an orb etc at least at the final stages of the raid. Thoughts? Edit: I also think this will aid in bringing more of the player base into the raids as more people will be willing to participate knowing they aren’t going to cause team wipes after wipes if they die because they struggle to understand what’s required for the mechanics during an encounter.

  • Not gonna bother saying dumb down the mechanics because we already know how more people on here will react. Will say though I watch guides and see the potential rewards for a raid and just go "yeah. Not worth putting up with a puzzle game that has if one person fails it's basically a wipe." For me vault of glass and crota's end, as well as wrath of the machine but never completed that one because I was under leveled for the for the final encounter and didnt have a mic, were the best all around. You had some degree of roles, year 1 atleast the raid weapons had the unique quality of being elemental in our primary slot which made me really what them. Mechanics were simpler yeah but with more of a focus on survival in a lot of it. Compared to now you have where everyone has to have a role in a mechanic basically, someone dies and if no one can res them in time it's a wipe, and failed a mechanic and it's a wipe. For me the rewards just arent worth the hassle because even if a gun is good or theres a chance for unique perks that are awesome there's gonna be far more trash rolls that could appear instead. Now if toxic players havent jumped and started a rant on what I've said, the person making this post is talking about ways to get more people into actually doing raids while keeping it still a difficult thing, which would also result in having more people to raid with or replace members that couldn't make it or dont want to do it. We already see nerfs to things preventing one player alone being able to just steam roll mobs with their super. This means its gonna take more coordination if you want to do such a thing in grabbing orbs from allies supers. Of course though I do get the other side though for why they would say this is easier, and it is because of a mix of supers and exotics. We have guns like bad juju that can get a nice damage bonus from slaying out and build up supers fast. Next we have warlock well of radiance with a chest piece to help them get the well back faster. Same for hunter tethers that can mow down hordes and produce lots of orbs and tita... right titan constant shoulder- charge and heal stuff.
